Battery system for heavy duty vehicles
The present disclosure relates to a battery system for a hybrid or an electric vehicle. Another aspect of the present disclosure provides a battery assembly designed for easy and quick exchange of battery assemblies enabling a vehicle to resume driving much more quickly than traditional charging permits.
Multiple motor multiple speed continuous power transmission
An electric powertrain includes a first electric motor that has an uninterrupted connection with a drive shaft of a vehicle. The electric powertrain further includes a second electric motor that has an interruptible connection with the drive shaft. In one form, this interruptible connection includes a clutch. The electric powertrain further includes a first gear train in the form of a first planetary gear and a second gear train in the form of a second planetary gear. To provide a compact configuration, the first electric motor and second electric motor are arranged in a centerline orientation with the drive shaft.
Apparatus and method for providing user interface for platooning of vehicle
A user interface providing apparatus configured for platooning of a vehicle may include a touch screen display, a sensor detecting an external object of the vehicle, a communication circuit communicating with an outside, and a control circuit electrically connected to the touch screen display and the sensor. The control circuit is configured to display a first object corresponding to the vehicle and a second object corresponding to an external vehicle detected by the sensor, on the touch screen display, to receive a touch input associated with the second object, using the touch screen display, and to make a request for joining in a platooning group, to the external vehicle via the communication circuit in a response to the touch input.
Fuel additive system for a diesel fuel engine
A fuel additive system includes a fuel supply having an intake manifold, a fuel tank, a fuel supply line, and a fuel delivery system. A fuel additive supply is fluidly connected to the fuel supply for adding fuel additive to fuel from the fuel supply. The fuel additive supply includes a fuel additive tank and a fuel additive supply line connecting the fuel additive tank to the fuel supply.
Electric vehicle battery frame assembly
The present disclosure provides an electric vehicle comprising a chassis, a front axle and a rear axle spaced apart and coupled to the chassis, and a battery frame assembly coupled to the chassis between the front axle and the rear axle. The battery frame assembly comprises a plurality of transversely extending members and a plurality of longitudinally extending members, wherein the plurality of transversely extending members and the plurality of longitudinally extending members define a matrix of battery pack receptacles configured to receive at least one battery pack. The battery frame assembly is configured to deflect torsionally in response to torsional deflection of the front axle relative to the rear axle.
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION AND DRIVE SYSTEM
A transmission includes a transmission main housing, an intermediate plate secured to the transmission main housing; and a rear housing attached to the intermediate plate and/or attached with fasteners through the intermediate plate to the main housing. An input shaft is connected to an extension shaft including a plurality of splitter gears selectively couple-able to the extension shaft. A main shaft is rotatably supported by the range shaft and range shaft bearing and includes a plurality of main box gears selectively couple-able to the main shaft. A range shaft is drivingly connected to the main shaft and provides input to a planetary gear assembly. The extension shaft is supported at a first end by a bearing assembly within a partition wall of the main transmission housing and a second end is supported by a bearing assembly disposed within the bore in the range shaft.
ELECTRICAL VEHICLE AXLE
A vehicle includes a frame, a first support member including a first end, a second end and an intermediate portion supporting a first axle receiver, a first bellows mounted to the first end of the first support member, a second bellows mounted to the second end of the first support member, a second support member including a first end portion, a second end portion and an intermediate section supporting a second axle receiver, a third bellows mounted to the first end portion of the second support member, a fourth bellows mounted to the second end portion of the second support member, a first drive unit including a first transmission mounted to the first support member, and a first electric motor connected to the first transmission, and a second drive unit including a second transmission mounted to the second support member, and a second electric motor connected to the second transmission.
AXLE ASSEMBLY FOR FRAME RAIL VEHICLES
An axle assembly for frame rail vehicles is described herein. The axle assembly includes a drive unit that includes a first drive unit assembly, a second drive unit assembly, a first axle shaft, and a second axle shaft. The first drive unit assembly includes a first electric machine, a first output assembly, and a first offset gear reduction assembly. The second drive unit assembly includes a second electric machine, a second output assembly, and a second offset gear reduction assembly. The first electric machine and the second electric machine are orientated in a same direction, and spaced such that the axle centerline axis is positioned between the first electric machine and the second electric machine. The first offset gear reduction assembly is spaced from the second offset gear reduction assembly such that the axle centerline axis is positioned between the first offset gear reduction and the second offset gear reduction.
COMBINATION VEHICLE, TRAILER, AND TRACTOR
A combination vehicle includes a tractor and a trailer towed by the tractor. The trailer includes a first tank that is configured to store a high-pressure gas as a fuel used by the tractor to travel. The tractor includes a second tank that is configured to store a high-pressure gas as a fuel used by the tractor to travel. The combination vehicle is configured to travel using the fuel supplied from the first tank and the second tank.
Fuel Cell Vehicle
A fuel cell vehicle is disclosed. The fuel cell vehicle includes a front fuel cell mounted in a first space and a rear fuel cell mounted in a second space located at the rear side of the first space on the basis of the direction in which the fuel cell vehicle travels. The rear fuel cell includes a top surface lower than the top surface of the front fuel cell on the basis of the ground.
