The TRU (30) is configured to be operably coupled a container (20) and includes components configured to control an environment within an interior of the container (20) and a TRU battery pack (40) configured to store energy for powering at least the components. The control unit is communicative with the TRU (30) and the electrical grid and is configured to manage power supplies and demands between the TRU battery pack (40) of each TRU (30) and the electrical grid.
Regenerative braking device and dump truck
In a regenerative braking device of a dump truck comprising an engine, a first generator and a second generator driven by the engine, at least one travel motor driven by generated electric power of the first generator and at least one fan motor to which generated electric power of the second generator is inputted via a first rectifier circuit, the regenerative braking device comprises: a resistive element to which regenerating electric power from the at least one travel motor in regenerative braking is supplied and which is cooled by at least one fan driven by the at least one fan motor and converts electric energy into heat energy and dissipates heat; and a DC/DC converter that inputs a part of the regenerating electric power which is supplied to the resistive element to an output line of the first rectifier circuit via a second rectifier circuit.
VEHICLE FRAME COMPONENT
A vehicle frame component for limiting the movement of the wheel of the vehicle toward the cab of a cab on frame vehicle including a base member welded to openings in the frame side rail and extending outwardly and located proximal the wheel structure. In one embodiment the vehicle frame component is located forward of the wheel and includes a tire puncture device to deflate the tire during an offset front impact and in a second embodiment the vehicle frame component is located rearward of the wheel. The vehicle frame component has particular utility during an offset front impact where the offset is less than approximately twenty-five percent (25%) of the width of the vehicle.
AXLE AND SPINDLE FOR HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLE AND METHOD
An axle assembly includes a central tube and an axle spindle. The axle spindle is fixed to the central tube. The axle spindle has a tubular first section and a tubular second section extending from the first section. The second section has an outer diameter. The second section has a bearing support surface. A tubular transition section is located between the first section and the second section. An annular shoulder portion is formed in an axial end segment of the tubular transition section adjacent the second section. The shoulder portion has at least one annular profile located in the shoulder portion between the annular shoulder surface and the bearing support surface. The annular profile is defined by a surface with a diameter not less than the outer diameter of the second section. An antilock braking system sensor bracket locator nub is integrally formed in the tubular transition section. An antilock braking system sensor bracket engages the antilock braking system sensor bracket locator nub for proper positioning of an antilock braking system sensor.
Work vehicle
A parking brake of a work vehicle has a piston near the wheel relative to an end plate in an axial direction parallel to a rotation axis of the drive shaft to move in the axial direction, a hub between the end plate and the piston in the axial direction to be connected to the drive shaft, a cylinder disposed outwardly from the hub in a radial direction relative to the rotation axis, a disk supported by the hub in an inner space defined by the end plate, the piston, the hub, and the cylinder, a separator supported by the cylinder, next to the disk in the inner space, and moved by the piston in the axial direction, a first passage connecting the inner space and an outer space, and a second passage provided outwardly from the first passage in the radial direction to connect the inner and outer spaces.
Rankine power system for use with exhaust gas aftertreatment system
A power system for converting waste heat from exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine to electrical energy includes an aftertreatment assembly positioned within a first housing. The power system also includes an evaporator assembly positioned within a second housing. The evaporator assembly is positioned directly adjacent the aftertreatment assembly. The evaporator assembly includes a first portion of a working fluid loop in thermal communication with a first length of an exhaust conduit that extends from the aftertreatment assembly into the second housing. The power system also includes a power pack positioned inside a third housing. The power pack is positioned directly adjacent the evaporator assembly opposite to the aftertreatment assembly. The power pack includes a tank, a condenser, a pump and an expander fluidly connected by a second portion of the working fluid loop. The second portion is fluidly connected to the first portion of the working fluid loop.
