The operator platform comprises at least one operator seat with a total of at least two operating positions for a machine operator at opposite ends of the operator platform, and an actuation device for foot actuation of the brake assembly. According to essential aspects of the present invention, the actuation device for the brake assembly comprises a brake beam which extends transversely to the working direction of the construction machine and which can be operated by foot from said two operating positions, and the actuation device further comprises an actuator for the brake beam, which is arranged below the brake beam.

The drive system has a traction hydraulic circuit having at least one hydraulic motor and at least one hydraulic pump. The circuit includes a first line region between a first connection fitting of the at least one hydraulic pump and a first connection fitting of each hydraulic motor to drive the at least one drive roller in a first rotatable direction and a second line region between a second connection fitting of the at least one hydraulic pump and a second connection fitting of each hydraulic motor to drive the at least one drive roller in a second, opposite rotatable direction. A valve assembly is provided with each line region for selectively interrupting and releasing a fluid flow connection between the at least one hydraulic pump and at least one hydraulic motor.

Control is effected according to a specified control profile when a specified driving operation is to be carried out in that an adjustment of the travel pump is carried out which is independent of the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine. This makes it possible to retain, on the one hand, the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine in the case of abrupt stops of movement or changes in the direction of movement and, on the other hand, to adapt the rotational speed of the engine in the case of somewhat longer uninterrupted pauses between two changes in the traveling behavior, wherein comparatively large fluctuations in the rotational speed are avoided.
