Vehicle front structure
A vehicle front structure is provided that can absorb collision energy with respect to not only a load from above but also a lateral load. A vehicle front structure includes a cowl side panel, a front hood, a fender panel forming a seam with the front hood, a fender upper cover disposed extending in a vehicle front-rear direction, and a bracket connecting the cowl side panel and the fender upper cover to each other and serving to dispose the fender upper cover at a predetermined position. The fender upper cover has an attachment wall to which the bracket is fixed and an inclined wall extending upward from an end of the attachment wall on an outward side with respect to a vehicle width direction while being inclined inward with respect to the vehicle width direction, and covering the seam from inside a vehicle.
DRIVE CONTROL APPARATUS FOR OPENING-AND-CLOSING BODY
An opening-and-closing body configured to open and close an opening moves across a first section in which the opening-and-closing body moves in the closing direction against its own weight and a second section in which the opening-and-closing body moves in the closing direction according to its own weight. The driver drives the opening-and-closing body in the closing direction continuously from the first section to the second section. The predictor predicts that the drive section of the opening-and-closing body will shift from the first section to the second section when the driver drives the opening-and-closing body in the closing direction toward the second section from the first section. The drive controller decreases the driving output of the driver for driving the opening-and-closing body in the closing direction according to the result of the prediction made by the predictor.
Fender bracket of a motor vehicle
A fender bracket of a motor vehicle, which includes seatings for attaching a fender, a point for anchoring with a structural element of the vehicle, and an area for attaching a hinge of the bonnet, the area for attaching the hinge being separated from the anchoring point, and the attachment seatings and the attachment area being shaped such as to ensure a predetermined relative positioning between the fender and the bonnet.
Lid, in particular trunk lid for a motor vehicle, in particular a passenger car
A lid for a motor vehicle has at least one body shell part, having at least one trim part which is held on the body shell part and by which the body shell part is covered at least in regions, and at least one fastening element which is arranged on the trim part and to which a coupling element can be fastened. Via the coupling element a covering element of the motor vehicle can be moved together with the lid during a movement of the lid. The trim part includes at least one receiving element which penetrates a corresponding receiving opening of the body shell part and in which the integral fastening element which penetrates the receiving opening is received at least partially with fixing of the trim part on the body shell part via the receiving element.
VEHICLE HOOD ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING A HOOD REINFORCEMENT STRAP WITH LOBE STRUCTURES AND VEHICLES INCLUDING THE SAME
A vehicle hood assembly includes an outer hood panel and an inner hood panel coupled to and positioned below the outer hood panel in a vehicle vertical direction. A hood reinforcement strap is coupled to at least one of the outer hood panel and the inner hood panel. The hood reinforcement strap includes a strap base and lobe structures spaced-apart along a length of the strap base that extend outward from the strap base in the vehicle vertical direction.
Sensor Assemblies and Object Detection in Vehicles
A vehicle is disclosed that includes a vehicle body and at least one sensor assembly that is supported on the vehicle body. The at least one sensor assembly is configured to detect an external object and includes a housing portion and a sensor that is supported within the housing portion such that the sensor is oriented at a fixed (e.g., downward) angle.
Cowl top structure
A cowl top structure is provided along a lower edge of a front glass in a vehicle width direction. The cowl top structure includes a raised section, a fragile section and a drainage passage. The raised section is formed on a left end portion of a cowl top. The fragile section is formed on the raised section. The drainage passage is provided in a surrounding of the raised section and formed to drain water to an outer side of a vehicle body.
ADAS-linked active hood apparatus for always-on operation
An advanced driving assistance system (ADAS)-linked active hood apparatus for always-on operation is provided. The apparatus includes a rotary arm that is fixed to a hood of a vehicle, a stationary bracket fixed to a vehicle body, and a rotary bracket that rotates upward and downward by applied rotation force. A first link interconnects the rotary bracket and the stationary bracket. A motor unit is integrally connected to the rotary arm and applies driving force to the rotary bracket. A controller receives driving information of the vehicle via an ADAS and sets a pop-up height of the hood. The motor unit then performs pop-up and restoration of the hood when a collision is expected based on the received driving information.
HOOD MOUNTING STRUCTURE
A hood mounting structure includes: a fender apron upper member provided along a length direction of a vehicle body; a hood disposed on a front portion of the vehicle body; and a hood hinge including a hinge upper arm connected to a lower part of the hood and a hinge lower arm mounted on a side of the fender apron upper member.
ENERGY ABSORBING MEMBER BENEATH VEHICLE HOOD
In at least some implementations, an energy absorbing member for a vehicle includes an engine cover adapted to be mounted beneath a vehicle hood and to overlie at least part of an engine, and an upper member coupled to the engine cover. The upper member is cantilevered to the engine cover wherein the upper member has a base coupled to the engine cover and a free end spaced from the base, and the upper member is flexible and a first portion of the upper member spaced from the base and including the free end is movable relative to the base.
