VEHICLE WITH REMOVABLE OUTER BODY PANEL AND DETACHABLE TAIL LAMP SUPPORT, AND CORRESPONDING METHOD
20200164923 · 2020-05-28 ·

This disclosure relates to a motor vehicle with a removable outer body panel and a detachable tail lamp support, and a corresponding method. An example method includes connecting a subassembly to a body of a motor vehicle, where the subassembly includes an outer body panel connected to a tail lamp support. This arrangement permits detachment of the tail lamp support from the outer body panel, which allows a user to detach the outer body panel from the body without having to detach the tail lamp support.

A wheel house lower member of a vehicle body has an upper surface portion and an outer side surface portion. The upper surface portion has an inner curved surface. The wheel house lower member defines a lower bending section on which an inner side ridge is formed between the upper surface portion and the outer side surface portion. The wheel house lower member has: a depression formed on the inner side ridge to induce deformation of the lower bent portion upon receipt of a frontal collision load; and an elongated hole formed through the outer side surface portion and extending substantially in parallel with the depression.

A LOCKING MECHANISM FOR A ROTATING MUDGUARD ASSEMBLY

A rotating mudguard assembly having fixed and rotating parts includes a locking mechanism to limit the relative movement between the fixed and rotating parts of the assembly. The locking mechanism has a locking pin which can selectively engage with a locking plate, the pin and the plate on respective parts of the rotating mudguard assembly. The locking mechanism may be an integral part of the assembly, or the locking mechanism may be a kit of parts for installation on or retrofitting to an assembly.

FENDER FLARES, BUMPERS AND SIDE STEPS

A fender flare has a mounting plate portion, a fender portion, and a plurality of strut plates. The mounting plate portion is configured to be mounted to a wheel well of a vehicle body. The plurality of strut plates support the fender portion relative to the mounting plate portion. A step assembly and modular bumper assemblies are also disclosed.

Fender assembly for concrete mixer truck

A fender assembly having a non-metallic fender panel configured in a curved manner generally prevents material from accumulating on surfaces thereof, reduces weight of the vehicle, and provides a necessary level of protection from flying rocks and other debris that the wheels of a truck may generate. A non-metallic material is used to form the fender panel, which has a desired level of strength, durability, pliability and coefficient of friction. By carefully selecting this material, the fabrication and installation of the fender assembly is further simplified, thus providing additional efficiency. When applied to a cement mixer truck, the curved fender assembly is particularly beneficial as it provides the necessary level of protection, while also discouraging a build-up of concrete on any surface since the non-metallic material will not generally allow concrete to adhere to the surface.

Lawn mower fender

A fender for a lawn mower having tire and wheel assemblies that are mounted to a yoke of a swivel caster assembly, whereby the yoke pivots through 360 degrees of rotation, includes an arcuate fender body. The fender body is attached to the yoke by a bracket so that it is rotatably carried by the rotating yoke. As such, the fender body is maintained at an optimal position relative to the mower tire and thereby provides desirable deflection of lawn clippings and other debris from the various operational components provided upon the mower deck. This prevents the premature wear of such operational components, thereby decreasing down time and reducing maintenance costs of the mower.

A fixation assembly for affixing a first object to a second object, such as for affixing a component to the surface of a vehicle, includes an insert body and an enclosure at least partially surrounding the inset body. The insert body has a threaded bore, and the enclosure defines a mounting surface for mounting the fixation assembly on the surface of the vehicle. An adhesive disposed on the mounting surface facilitates bonding the fixation assembly to the surface without requiring holes to be drilled in the vehicle. The fixation assembly may further include a fastener having external threads complementary to the threaded bore.

VEHICLE FRONT BODY STRUCTURE

A vehicle front body structure includes: a vehicle body frame member arranged behind a front tire of a vehicle; and an extending member located in front of the vehicle body frame member so as to face the front tire and arranged at a height overlapping in a vehicle up-down direction with the front tire, wherein the extending member extends outward in a vehicle width direction beyond a front pillar and a side sill. The front pillar and side sill constitute the vehicle body frame member.
