Milking arrangement and a method of milking animals therein

A milking arrangement includes a milking module having at least two milking places, a front gate assembly, a sequence gate assembly, an entrance gate, an independent first drive device for moving the front gate assembly between lower and upper positions, and a second drive device for moving the entrance gate between open and closed positions. An independent third drive device moves the sequence gate assembly from a first position to a second elevated position in which the sequence gates are located at a level above and behind animals standing in respective milking places. The sequence gate assembly being configured to move from the second position to the first position such that the sequence gates urge animals standing in their respective milking places to leave the milking places. A control arrangement controls opening of the entrance gate on basis of the position of the sequence gate assembly.

A non-human primate restraint system comprising a complex of a manipulating chamber and a restraint chamber. The system provides a humane, interactive, and safe structure and methods for leading non-human primates from a chute or a cage, through the manipulating chamber, and into a restraint chamber. The restraint chamber is removably attached to the manipulating chamber. The restraint chamber has an upper part with a screen, a middle portion with slots to accommodate platforms, and a lower section with a screen. The screens can be retracted or removed to access either the top portion or lower portion of the NHP.

AUTOMATIC FEEDING SYSTEM, BARN FOR HOUSING ANIMALS USING SUCH A SYSTEM, AUTONOMOUSLY MOVEABLE FEEDING DEVICE FOR USE IN SUCH A SYSTEM, AND IMPACT ELEMENT FOR USE IN SUCH A SYSTEM
20210345578 · 2021-11-11 · ·

An automatic feeding system includes an autonomously moveable feeding device for feeding animals. The feeding device includes a feed container for accommodating feed, a feed dispensing device for dispensing feed from the teed container, and a safety device suitable for halting the autonomously moveable feeding device in case of collision with an obstacle. The safety device includes a bumper for establishing a first contact with such an obstacle. The bumper defines an outer safety contour of the autonomously moveable feeding device. The safety device further includes a partition opener configured to open a partition provided in a door opening for enabling the autonomously moveable feeding device to pass through the door opening. The door opening provided with partition may be provided in a barn for housing animals. The opening device is provided separately and independently from and is not directly, connected to the safety device. In this way, the partition opener acts independently from and does not affect the safety device.

Animal kennel door system

Various implementations include an animal kennel door system. The system includes a door frame and a door. The door frame includes a frame body and one or more connecting flanges. The frame body defines a frame opening, and each of the one or more connecting flanges extends from the frame body away from the frame opening. The one or more connecting flanges has at least one coupling surface. The coupling surface has at least a first coupling portion and a second coupling portion. The door is hingedly coupled to a portion of the frame body. A portion of the first and second flange coupling portions each lie in a different plane, and the planes are transverse to each other.

Head gate for a cattle containment chute

An animal head gate includes head gate doors each having a squeeze bar to trap the neck mounted between upper and lower rails. Adjustment of the spacing between the bars uses an eccentric crank operated by lever which cooperates with two manual latches on a rail at maximum and minimum spacing. A neck sweep bar is mounted on one gate and movable from a retracted position to a position forward of the squeeze bar across the head gate so as to engage the neck of the animal in front of the squeeze bar and to turn the neck and head. The head gate is held closed by front and rear abutment members each of which is formed as a roller which rotates to reduce friction under load. Each gate includes an upstanding torsion bar which twists when forces are applied to the squeeze bars from impact with the animal.

A gating system comprising a gate, footplate, formed latch assemblies, formed tab end assemblies, c-bracket, and parallel structural members which provides infinite mounting points to connect gates to slotted floor slates with a footplate. The gating system simplifies the design, manufacture, installation, and operation of animal management.

Livestock Restraining Device
20230354768 · 2023-11-09 ·

An improved livestock restraining device comprising a mounting component connected to an extending arm assembly to prevent an animal from bucking while situated within a chute. The improved livestock restraining device comprises a buck arm frame assembly and a mounting frame assembly. The buck arm is intended to be engaged across the hips and/or back of the animal to reduce the chance or opportunities for the animal to rear-up, kick, or buck as the rider is mounting, sitting, or preparing for a rodeo event. The improved livestock restraining device can help prevent injury to the rider, animal, and attendant assisting the rider and animal.

Animal crate

A door assembly for an animal enclosure includes a door frame and a door each having a plurality of interconnected horizontal and vertical wires. The door frame defines an opening for an animal to pass therethrough, and the door is slidably coupled to the door frame such that it moves between an open position and a closed position relative to the door frame to allow egress and ingress through the opening. A catch member is coupled to the door frame. A latch includes a base member, a bolt, and a lever portion. A first vertical wire and a second vertical wire of the door are spaced from one another such that the first vertical wire is at a first end of the door and the second vertical wire is at a second end of the door. In the closed position, the bolt is coupled to the first vertical wire.
