Integrated Wave Energy Converter and Docking Station with Ramped Cloverleaf Supplemental Heave Plate
A wave energy converter that has waveguides affixed radially around a compression chamber to form wave channels to amplify movement of the surface of the ocean in the compression chamber is positioned a distance above a first heave plate. A dock frame is affixed to the bottom of the first heave plate, with a second heave plate comprising ramps extending radially outward and downward from the dock frame, and lobes extending radially outward from the ramps, so that the lobes define V-shaped dock frame channels between the lobes and the ramps define dock frame slots between the ramps. Charging interfaces are provided at the dock frame slots configured to receive an electrically conductive portion of an autonomous underwater vehicle. The V-shaped dock frame channels guide the autonomous underwater vehicle towards and into the dock frame slots, so that the electrically conductive portion is received by a charging interface for charging and communicating with the autonomous underwater vehicle.
BUOY WITH RADIATED WAVE REFLECTOR
Disclosed is buoyant wave energy capture device, adapted to float adjacent to an upper surface of a body of water over which waves pass, and adapted to capture a portion of the radiated waves created by its own rising and falling in response to incident and/or passing environmental waves. A power take off mechanism combined with the disclosed wave energy capture device may be tuned to a specific wave frequency, and thereby optimally extract energy from a motion of a single frequency, even the wave energy capture device may be excited and/or energized by waves of any of a relatively broad range of frequencies, thereby increasing the power-generation and cost efficiencies of such devices relative to wave energy conversion devices of the prior art.
INERTIAL HYDRODYNAMIC PUMP AND WAVE ENGINE
A buoyant hydrodynamic pump is disclosed that can float on a surface of a body of water over which waves tend to pass. The pump incorporates an open-bottomed tube with a constriction. The tube partially encloses a substantial volume of water with which the tube's constriction interacts, creating and/or amplifying oscillations therein in response to wave action. Wave-driven oscillations result in periodic upward ejections of portions of the water inside the tube that can be collected in a reservoir that is at least partially positioned above the mean water level of the body of water, or pressurized by compressed air or gas, or both. Water within such a reservoir may return to the body of water via a turbine, thereby generating electrical power (making the device a wave engine), or else the device's pumping action can be used for other purposes such as water circulation, propulsion, or cloud seeding.
Systems and methods for hydro-based electric power generation
A hydrodynamic power generation assembly and method of use therefor for generating electrical power from the combination of kinetic energy, hydrostatic energy, and turbulent energy of water. The power generation assembly comprises a water accelerator assembly comprising a support structure which is at least partially buoyant and a baffle panel member (or an array of baffle panel members) having an opening, inter-panel spacing, or flow passageway around the baffle panel(s). A hydropower converter is supported from, by, or on the support structure and is operatively coupled to a generator. The hydropower converter is positioned behind baffle assembly. Water flowing through or around the baffle assembly has an increased velocity relative the ambient current and therefore is capable of generating more power relative to the ambient water where power generation assembly is deployed. Particular types of hydropower converters suitable for use with the invention are turbines and water wheels.
HYDROELECTRICITY PRODUCTION FACILITY USING CHANGES IN WATER COLUMN DENSITY TO INDUCE VERTICAL FLOW
The present invention relates generally to facilities and systems capable of initiating and maintaining vertical flow, upward, within an extended-length water column by inducing changes in density throughout the column. Specifically, the induced (vertical) flow of water within an extended water column that is the present invention is accomplished through fluid aeration, with ambient air, which is directed toward producing ascending water flow rates sufficient to generate hydraulic pressure and hydraulic powered energy, through generated radial force in hydraulic turbines. It is another goal of this invention to utilize air infused water, derived from high-density and low depths, to create said vertical flow and induce turbine actuation through said unaltered, recyclable mediums—air and water—resulting in electrical power generation and desalination.
HYDROGEN PRODUCTION AND CONVEYANCE SYSTEM
A system and method by which energy from ocean waves is converted into hydrogen, and that hydrogen is used to manifest electrical and mechanical energies by an energy consuming device. A portion of the generated electrical power is communicated to water electrolyzers which produce oxygen and hydrogen from water as gases. At least a portion of the generated hydrogen gas is transferred to a transportation ship via a hose-carrying, remotely operated (or otherwise unmanned) vehicle, and subsequently transferred to an energy-consuming module or infrastructure, where a portion of the hydrogen is consumed in order to manifest a generation of electrical energy, a mechanical motion, and/or a chemical reaction.
Wave energy thermal storage type seawater thermoelectric power generation device
A wave energy thermal storage type seawater thermoelectric power generation device which comprises a buoy-type energy capture system, a platform system and a mooring system. A whole friction liquid heating, thermal storage and power generation device is arranged inside a platform, which improves the adaptability of the whole system to the external environment. A flywheel and liquid friction heating method is adopted to generate heat more efficiently. Inner ratchets and pawls are used to control the movement of a flywheel so that the flywheel always rotates in one direction, and when the rotating speed of the flywheel exceeds that of the inner ratchets, the external wave energy cannot be transferred to the flywheel through the movement of the inner ratchets so as to limit the upper limit of the rotating speed of the flywheel and protect the safety of the flywheel system.
Ocean wave and tidal current energy conversion system
An ocean wave and tidal current energy conversion system includes a first vessel and a second vessel, the first vessel being parallel and spaced apart from the second vessel. The first and second vessels include supports that receive cylinders that rotate from ocean waves and currents to create hydraulic oil pressure via hydraulic cylinders. The hydraulic oil in the energy conversion system is pumped into a pressure accumulator that removes hydraulic surges and operates an electric generator. The electric generator may power an electrolysis batch system for the production of hydrogen that fills each vessel with hydrogen gas.

A buoy for a wave energy converter system comprises an attachment portion and a plurality of buoyancy block assemblies supported by support portions. By providing the support portions so that they form an integral support structure, an improved buoy design is provided which is easier to manufacture and which exhibits reduced weight and improved durability. A wave energy converter comprising the buoy and method of manufacturing a buoy are also provided.
