The present disclosure provides an automated insect rearing facility for the reproduction and growth of insects, and in particular, Tenebrio molitor larvae. The insect rearing facility includes insect rearing containers that automates insect rearing activities and regulation of environmental conditions for insect growth. The provided facility and container include components that are in communication with a control unit, which directs and controls the components according to predetermined instructions and/or in response to feedback from a number of various sensors. The components may autonomously perform a multitude of facility operations without the need for human intervention. The present disclosure also provides an insect feed composition, particularly to be fed to Tenebrio molitor larvae.

Collapsible shelter structure is assembled to form a shelter for a pet and in dismantled form shelter structure is collapsible which provides ease for portability. One or more windows are provided that can provide adequate ventilation and can be closed when not desired. HVAC system is used for climate control and regulates/controls temperature within the pet shelter so that pet can comfortably enjoy stay. HVAC system is mainly powered by solar energy and is an independent system. Also, doors with flexible strips are provided that maintain the internal environment of the pet shelter. Also flexible strips provide easy movement of pet in and out of pet shelter.

The animal crate cooling system comprises a thermal cover for an animal crate and a cold air unit The cold air unit generates and circulates cool air through the crate. The thermal cover comprises a plurality of thermally insulated panels that surround the sides and top of the crate. One or more apertures in the top of the thermal cover allow air to enter and/or exit the crate. The cold air unit utilizes carbon dioxide gas from an attached CO2 cylinder to make dry ice by blowing the CO2 into a mesh basket within the cold air unit. One or more air moving devices may circulate cool air from the cold air unit over the dry ice and through the crate. The air moving devices may be powered by a battery, which may be recharged using a solar panel.

The invention further relates to a protein production system, for the on-site production of protein-rich insect larvae as animal feed, and to a method for the breeding of crawling insects, comprising the step of cooling the insects in the interior of the drum with a cooling device.

An automated flush system for an evaporative cooling system may be employed in barns or other facilities that house animals to provide cooling and to reduce production loss. The evaporative cooling control system may include an automated flush system that has a controllable valve at a flush end of the cooling system. Based on a timer, the controllable valve is opened and water drains (e.g., pumped or gravity feed) out of the cooling pad enclosure. Fresh water is introduced at the fill end of the system, rinsing out the evaporative cooling pads. After a predetermined time, the valve at the flush end of the system is closed, and the fresh water refills the cooling pad enclosure.
