Self Inflating Float Assembly
20210101665 · 2021-04-08 ·

A self inflating float assembly includes a tube that is comprised of a resiliently expandable material. The tube has an air port extending into an interior of the tube thereby facilitating the tube to self inflate. Additionally, the tube is comprised of a fluid impermeable thereby facilitating the tube to float when the tube is inflated for performing as a personal floatation device. A valve is rotatably coupled to the air port. The valve is positionable in an open condition thereby facilitating air to pass through the air port for inflating or deflating the tube. The valve is positionable in a closed condition thereby inhibiting air from passing through the air port for retaining the tube at a selected degree of inflation.

An inflatable flotation device including two panels extending from a body an inflatable bladder. The two panels and the body may be closed to enclose the inflatable bladder with the two panels attached to each other using magnets. When the inflatable bladder is inflated, the magnets separate from each other and the two panels open up to expose the inflatable bladder and allow further inflation.

Emergency flotation device using compressed gas

A flotation device for providing emergency flotation for a person swimming or passing through a body of water, comprising a container filled with a charge of a gaseous material under a pressure such that it is in its liquid phase at normal environmental temperatures. The container is connected to a flexible flotation chamber through a passage which remains normally closed until actuated by the user. When the device is actuated by opening the passage, the charge expands into the flotation chamber, thereby inflating it, and providing support to the user in the water. The gaseous material has thermodynamic properties such that it remains in its liquid phase right up to the maximum temperatures to which the device is expected to be exposed to. Consequently, its volume, and hence the internal pressure within the gas container, does not increase significantly, thereby enabling the container to be of lightweight construction.

A life-saving device, including: a buoyancy bag including a cavity; a wearable member including a housing; a controller including a single-chip microcomputer, a battery, a flip-flop, and an integrated circuit board; a gas generator including an input electrode terminal and a gas outlet. The single-chip microcomputer includes a plurality of pins and is disposed on the integrated circuit board; the battery, the flip-flop, and the input electrode terminal of the gas generator are respectively connected to the plurality of pins through the integrated circuit board; the housing includes a first chamber, and the battery, the single-chip microcomputer, and the integrated circuit board are disposed in the first chamber; the cavity of the buoyancy bag communicates with the gas outlet; and the buoyancy bag is deflated when in nonuse for convenience of storage, and inflated with gas produced by the gas generator to expand in an emergency.

EMERGENCY FLOTATION DEVICE WITH CHEMICAL REACTION CHAMBER
20200407031 · 2020-12-31 ·

An inflatable flotation device having a reaction chamber with reactants that generate gas when mixed, said reactants being separated by a barrier assembly; an activating mechanism adapted to remove or puncture the barrier assembly such that said reactants mix; and an inflatable compartment fluidly connected to the reaction chamber by means of a pressure sensitive passageway, adapted to open only when the pressure of the gas in said reaction chamber exceeds a predetermined threshold. This ensures that most of the reactants are used up to generate gas before the gas enters the inflatable chamber, thus preventing scattering of the reactants. Some implementations have a reaction chamber without a barrier assembly, comprising reactants that generate gas when mixed with water and an activating mechanism adapted to expose the reactants to water. A variety of manual or automatic mechanisms may be employed to activate the reaction and inflate the device.
