Livestock confinement gating system and method
A gating system comprising a gate, footplate, latch, c-bracket, and parallel structural members which provides infinite mounting points to connect gates to slotted floor slates with a footplate. The gating system simplifies the design, manufacture, installation, and operation of animal management.
PORTABLE AND COLLAPSABLE MODULAR CALF HOUSING SYSTEM
A portable and collapsable modular calf housing system featuring at leasl one pen comprising a front panel and two side panels and optionally a rear wall panel forming a pen The side panels include channels in which the front panel can slide vertically to adjust the height of a feed pail attached thereto The channels are disposed on either face of each side panel to enable a front panel from each one of adjacent pens to be joined to form a plurality of interconnected pens.
Shed, in particular for holding pigs
The invention relates to a shed with a defecation region, a rest region, a feeding region and an activity region. The floor of the defecation region is formed by the upper run of a conveyor belt, through which urine that is produced can pass. A collecting trough for the urine is arranged under the upper run of the conveyor belt, from which collecting trough the urine is guided away and directed into a urine collection container outside the shed. An excrement scraper is disposed proximate the conveyor belt in the region of the rear deflection thereof. The excrement scraper, during the forward movement of the conveyor belt, scrapes the excrement on the conveyor belt off onto a discharge conveyor belt, in such a way that a separation of excrement and urine takes place.
Circular grazing system and method
A circular grazing system for poultry and/or livestock. The circular grazing system including a center pivot structure installed at a field. The center pivot structure may have a center pivot axis. The field may be a poultry and/or livestock grazing field. The circular grazing system for poultry and/or livestock may include an enclosure for containing poultry and/or livestock. The enclosure may extend generally radially from the center pivot structure to a circumference of the field. The enclosure may be rotably coupled to the center pivot structure such that the enclosure rotates around the center pivot axis.
ANIMAL PEN WITH REMOVABLE DIVIDERS
A modular animal pen system comprises front and rear panels and opposed side panels extending between the front and rear panels to form a primary enclosure. The front panel has adjacent doorway apertures formed therein to receive respective selectively closable gates, and a mullion is disposed between the doorway apertures. The mullion has a first slot, and a second slot in the rear panel is in registration with the first slot. The animal pen system further comprises a removable divider panel whose longitudinal ends are sized to fit removably within the respective slots so that the divider panel can divide the primary enclosure into two secondary enclosures. The side and divider panels may be formed by interchangeable profile panels, and the front and rear panels may be formed by interchangeable face panels connectable end-to-end to form a junction slot therebetween sized to receive the longitudinal ends of the profile panels.
Monitoring livestock
An apparatus for raising livestock includes one or more confinement pens together with alleyways for transfer of the animals from one location to another. The apparatus includes one or more cameras for obtaining images of all animals in the containment area. A processor is provided for analyzing the images, the processor being arranged to allocate an arbitrary identification to each animal and to track all animals continually to maintain the allocation. From this tracking various data related to individual animals or the animals as a group can be obtained to assess their characteristics and to provide an indication to the worker of the animal to be extracted. The processor can be arranged to detect by image analysis of the image a quantity of feed and/or water in a feeder and to obtain images of the farrowing pen including the sow confinement area and at least one piglet confinement area.
Product and method for providing enrichment and facilitating expression of natural behaviors in pigs
The present invention relates to a formulation that can be utilised to facilitate expression of natural behaviour in pigs, and in particular sows and weaners and a method which utilises the formulation for the same.

INTELLIGENT METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING PIG BEHAVIOR ABNORMALITY
The disclosure provides an intelligent method and system for monitoring pig behavior abnormality. The method comprises: acquiring an instantaneous acceleration of a pig; calculating an instantaneous acceleration variation according to the instantaneous acceleration; calculating a sampling characteristic value according to the instantaneous acceleration and the instantaneous acceleration variation; calculating a threshold according to historical data; drawing a box diagram according to the sampling characteristic value and the threshold; judging whether the sampling characteristic value exceeds the threshold according to the box diagram; if not, reacquiring the instantaneous acceleration of the pig and calculate the instantaneous acceleration variation; and if so, sending an alarm signal. An alarm signal is sent out after an abnormal behavior is detected by comparing the sampling characteristic value and the threshold, so that the abnormal behavior of the pig can be found in time, and the feeding safety is improved.
SWINE FEEDING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CLEANING SAME
A system and method for feeding hogs in a hog confinement and cleaning said system, which includes overhead feed distribution pipe, with a boot situated to receive feed from the overhead feed distribution pipe, and a downspout which directs feed to a feeder. A two-piece connector between the boot and the downspout is provided to allow for quick and easy detachment of the downspout from the boot.
One embodiment of the two-piece connector is a hinged connector which, when open, goes around an exterior of an exit port of the boot and around an input end of the downspout. When hinged connector is closed, it retains the downspout to the boot. A latch may be used to keep the hinged connector closed.
In another embodiment, a top connector is coupled to the exit port of boot, in a well known manner such as screws, and a bottom connector is connected to an input end of the downspout in a similar manner. Each of the top and bottom connectors has a flange and either a multiple width slot or a stud with larger head portion thereon for allowing a quick rotation to allow for alignment of the stud with a narrow slot portion to allow for retention.
