Modular livestock feed system for measuring animal intake and monitoring animal health
A livestock feed system adapted to be modular and readily scalable from one bin assembly to multiple bin assemblies that can be communicatively networked together. The system includes a stainless steel feed bin with an opening on a first surface of the one or more sidewalls for receiving an animal head. The feed bin further includes an access door on a second surface of the one or more sidewalls that is pivotally, slidably, or removably coupled to adjacent portions of the one or more sidewalls to allow easy cleaning of the bin. The system includes a portable support frame supporting the feed bin, and a controller mounted on the support frame. The controller includes a self-contained computer with a processor executing code (programs or software) to provide an animal monitoring and management module that causes the controller to determine intake by an animal accessing the feed bin through the opening.
Pig Rescue Feeder and Waterer
A feeder and watering apparatus for pigs and a method for rehabilitating a fallback pig and preventing the fallback of a weaned pig is disclosed. A pair of semi-cylindrical troughs are mounted to either side of a fluid supply line. The troughs have a rooting protector mounted to the open portion of the trough, the rooting protector has a pair of longitudinally extending bars and multiple rung portions that are longitudinally spaced apart to provide a plurality of discrete eating areas. The troughs have a front wall portion that is lower than the rear wall portion to prevent feed from spilling over the rear wall. Multiple waterer nipples extend horizontally through holes in the rear wall. A quick-connect floor mount is rotatably mounted to the fluid supply line, with a handle that allows a retaining portion to lock the apparatus in cooperation with floor slats.
PORTABLE AND COLLAPSABLE MODULAR CALF HOUSING SYSTEM
A portable and collapsible modular calf housing system featuring at least one pen comprising a front panel and two side panels and optionally a rear panel forming a pen. The side panels include channels in which the front panel can slide vertically to adjust the height of a feeding pail attached thereto. The channels are disposed on either face of each side panel to enable a front panel from each one of adjacent pens to be joined to form a plurality of interconnected pens.
PASTURE BARN
A barn for housing dairy cows includes a feeding and milking area, and a pasture area. The feeding and milking area comprises a plurality of feeding stations, each feeding station including: a manger configured to permit a cow to obtain dry feed; a waterer configured to permit the cow to obtain drinking water; and a head lock configured to releasably secure the cow in the feeding station while the cow is being milked. The pasture area is configured to permit a plurality of cows to lay down. The pasture area includes a raised bed composed of a bedding material and having a predetermined slope selected to facilitate removal of excess liquid from the pasture area.
CIRCULAR GRAZING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A circular grazing system for poultry and/or livestock. The circular grazing system including a center pivot structure installed at a field. The center pivot structure may have a center pivot axis. The field may be a poultry and/or livestock grazing field. The circular grazing system for poultry and/or livestock may include an enclosure for containing poultry and/or livestock. The enclosure may extend generally radially from the center pivot structure to a circumference of the field. The enclosure may be rotably coupled to the center pivot structure such that the enclosure rotates around the center pivot axis.
ANIMAL PEN WITH REMOVABLE DIVIDERS
A modular animal pen system comprises front and rear panels and opposed side panels extending between the front and rear panels to form a primary enclosure. The front panel has adjacent doorway apertures formed therein to receive respective selectively closable gates, and a mullion is disposed between the doorway apertures. The mullion has a first slot, and a second slot in the rear panel is in registration with the first slot. The animal pen system further comprises a removable divider panel whose longitudinal ends are sized to fit removably within the respective slots so that the divider panel can divide the primary enclosure into two secondary enclosures. The side and divider panels may be formed by interchangeable profile panels, and the front and rear panels may be formed by interchangeable face panels connectable end-to-end to form a junction slot therebetween sized to receive the longitudinal ends of the profile panels.
Livestock confinement gating system and method
A gating system comprising a gate, footplate, formed latch assemblies, formed tab end assemblies, c-bracket, and parallel structural members which provides infinite mounting points to connect gates to slotted floor slates with a footplate. The gating system simplifies the design, manufacture, installation, and operation of animal management.
Sow feeding system
A system for individually feeding sows within a snuggery includes entry, feeder station and exit assemblies. The entry assembly includes an entry gate module for individually admitting a sow therein. The exit assembly includes an exit gate module. The feeder station assembly includes at least one feed dispenser for dispensing a selected amount of feed into a trough and a carrier for supporting said trough. The carrier is displaceable between an extended position wherein the trough is positioned within the snuggery to permit access by a sow and a retracted position wherein the trough is inaccessible to the sow and the trough is positioned for filling by the feed dispenser. Feed may be dispensed in individualized rations to the sow under the control of a computer-driven controller. Movement of the sow within the snuggery may be controlled by sequentially illuminating regions of the snuggery, under the control of the controller.
APPARATUS FOR MEASURING AMOUNT OF FEED USING WEIGHT SENSOR
Provided is an apparatus of measuring the amount of feed. The apparatus includes a feed tank, a plurality of sliders, a case, a plurality of guides, and a weight sensor. The feed tank includes a discharge tube disposed at a lower part thereof and includes a body filled with feed. The plurality of sliders is radially and vertically disposed on an outer surface of the feed tank. The case has a discharge tube insertion hole at a lower part thereof to receive a discharge tube of the feed tank and receives the feed tank. The plurality of guides is radially and vertically disposed on an inner surface of the case. The weight sensor is disposed under the guide and makes contact with a lower end of the slider of the feed tank to measure the weight of the feed tank and feed.
