The present invention relates in general to the field of livestock trailers, and more specifically, to a livestock trailer that utilizes an enclosed elevator platform for loading and unloading animals. The elevator platform is located within an elevator shaft inside the frame of the livestock trailer. The elevator platform is configured to protect and confine the livestock as it traverses through the elevator shaft during loading and unloading operations. The livestock trailer may further comprise a ventilation system, a sprinkler system and/or a watering system to help assist in the well-being, health, and safety of the livestock while being transported. The purpose of the invention is to provide a livestock trailer and method of loading and unloading livestock onto the livestock trailer that minimizes risk of serious injury to both animal and handler during loading, unloading and transportation operations.

A pet carrier includes a bottom panel having a pair of end edges and a pair of side edges, a pair of side panels connected to the side edges of the bottom panel, a pair of end panels connected to the end edges of the bottom panel, and a top panel connected to the pair of side panels and the pair of end panels. The bottom panel, the pair of side panels, the pair of end panels, and the top panel enclose a first interior area when the pet carrier is in a compact configuration. The top panel includes an expandable portion configured to be raised above the pair of side panels and the pair of end panels to form a second interior area greater than the first interior area when the pet carrier is in an expanded configuration.

A vehicle includes a passenger cabin, a monument, a pet travel system, and a ventilation system. The pet travel system includes at least a portion of the monument and at least one pet storage module configured to be received in the portion of the monument. The ventilation system includes an inlet port defined in the at least one pet storage module, an exhaust port defined in the at least one pet storage module, and an exhaust duct. The inlet port is in flow communication with an air source outside of the pet travel system. The exhaust duct is in flow communication with the exhaust port. The pressure within the exhaust duct is lower than the pressure of the air source to cause air to flow from the air source through the at least one pet storage module from the inlet port to the exhaust port.

An animal containment and transport assembly for transporting a pet includes a housing and a pair of covers. A top of the housing is open. The covers are hingedly engaged to the housing and are positioned to selectively close the top. The housing and the pair of covers thus define an interior space that can contain an animal. The covers are selectively engageable to the housing so that the covers are fixedly positioned over the top. A plurality of wheels is engaged to a bottom of the housing. A pull handle is engaged to and is selectively extensible from the housing. The pull handle can be grasped in a hand of a user, positioning the user to pull on the pull handle to locomote the housing across a surface.

Animal constraint systems may include at least one track suitably configured for mounting on the anchoring structure, the at least one track having a track interior. A track slot may be provided in the at least one track. The track slot may communicate with the track interior. A carriage may be disposed for linear movement in the track interior of the track and protrude from the track interior through the track slot. The carriage may include a carriage frame. At least one carriage roller may be rotatably carried by the carriage frame and disposed in the track interior of the track. A tether line may be connected to the carriage frame. The tether configured for connection to the animal via a collar, harness or the like.

A dual-purpose container and diversion device for animals includes a base and a perimeter wall attached to the base. An inner surface and outer surface of the container combine to form an overall surface. The device includes at least a linear fault region in the overall surface having a lesser tensile strength and including at least a first non-intersecting open curve forming a first planar section; the at least a linear fault region may include at least a second curve defining a bracing component. The device is convertible to a second configuration forming a diversion device for an animal, by fracture of the at least a linear fault region to form at least a first flap and rotation of the at least a flap into a second position; conversion may include movement of the at least a bracing component to support the at least a flap in the second position.

A cargo area partition system for a vehicle includes a rear seat positioned within a cabin area of the vehicle and adjacent a cargo area in the vehicle. The rear seat includes a rear seat back that is pivotally positionable between an upright position and a substantially horizontal position. The system further includes a seat striker adapted to engage and to releasably fix the rear seat back in an upright position, and a partition panel configured to releasably engage the seat striker and define a partition in the cargo area when the rear seat back is positioned in the substantially horizontal position.

Provide is a storage apparatus for a companion animal, including a first storage part in which a companion animal is seated, a second storage part connected to an edge of the first storage part and configured to surround the companion animal, and a third storage part coupled to the second storage part, wherein the third storage part surrounds the first storage part or is turned over to cover an upper side of the second storage part, thereby allowing the companion animal to be stored in the storage apparatus having a house or bag form.
