An environmental control system of an aircraft includes a ram air circuit including a ram air shell having at least one heat exchanger positioned therein. A dehumidification system is arranged in fluid communication with the ram air circuit and at least one compressing device is arranged in fluid communication with the ram air circuit and the dehumidification system. The at least one compressing device includes a turbine and a compressor operably coupled via a shaft. A fan is operably coupled to the ram air circuit. At least one compressing device is arranged non-linearly with the ram air circuit such that an axis of rotation of the fan is offset from the axis of the shaft.

Aerospace vehicle environmental control system

An Environmental Control Systems (ECS) for an aerospace vehicle comprises an air supply airflow path inputting, monitoring, and conditioning air from external to the vehicle, and a recirculation airflow path inputting, monitoring, filtering, and moving air from one portion of the interior of the vehicle to another portion. The air supply airflow can include a dynamically controlled VOC/ozone converter, which can be operated when the aerospace vehicle is on the ground. The recirculation airflow path can include a dynamically controlled regenerative gas contaminant filter and/or VOC/CO2 removal device. The filter/adsorption media of the controlled regenerative gas contaminant filter and/or VOC/CO2 removal device can be regenerated by suppling hot air or a vacuum, and gaseous contaminants can be broken down for removal from the regenerative gas contaminant filter by controlling UV irradiation. The controller can alert a flight crew if air quality falls outside predetermined or programmable parameters.

Flow sensing ozone converter with replaceable core

A flow sensing ozone converter includes an inlet housing, an outlet housing, and an ozone converter core. The flow sensing ozone converter integrates flow sensing and oxygen removal components. The inlet housing is provided with an inlet housing flange. The outlet housing is provided with an outlet housing flange. The ozone converter core is at least partially received within the inlet housing. The ozone converter is provided with an ozone converter flange that abuts the inlet housing flange and the outlet housing flange.

A heat exchanger includes a plate with an external surface, a channel, and a nozzle. The external surface bounds an interior of the plate. The channel is disposed in the heat exchanger and passes through a portion of the interior. The nozzle is integrally disposed in the heat exchanger, extends through a portion of the external surface, and is fluidly connected to the channel. The nozzle is configured to transport a liquid from the channel, through the external surface, and to distribute the liquid onto a portion of the heat exchanger.

The mixer assembly comprises a mixing chamber, which comprises an inlet and an outlet and a mixing chamber wall delimiting the mixing chamber, and also a shroud, which surrounds the mixing chamber wall, at least in certain portions. The shroud forms and delimits an intermediate space between the mixing chamber wall and the shroud. The mixer assembly also comprises a filter element, which fluidically connects the intermediate space to a surrounding area of the mixer assembly, the intermediate space being fluidically connected to the mixing chamber. Fluid can thus flow through the filter element into the intermediate space and further into the mixing chamber. A stowage space with a mixer assembly, an aircraft with such a stowage space and a method for producing a mixer assembly in an aircraft are also described.

The ozone catalytic component includes cobalt oxide. The hydrocarbon catalytic component includes platinum. An outermost layer of the one or more catalytic layers includes the hydrocarbon catalytic component distributed in the non-catalytic component.
