A device and appliance is provided for the high-speed decontamination of objects by means of pulsed light, including: an illuminating structure suitable for illuminating a decontamination area in which the objects are arranged, the illuminating structure being suitable for producing streams of light pulses having wavelengths of 200 nm to 300 nm and an adjustable pulse rate; and a positioner suitable for positioning the objects in the decontamination area according to a predetermined arrangement, also including a cooler suitable for maintaining the temperature of the decontamination area substantially below a predetermined temperature when the decontamination area is illuminated, the cooler including an apparatus for circulating a cooling fluid built into the positioner.
Method and device for handling a closing element in a laboratory automation system
A method and a device for handling a closing element in a laboratory automation system are presented. The closing element is a sealing foil having at least two layers forming a first surface and an opposing second surface, respectively. The layers differ in at least one material property. The material property on at least one of the first surface and the second surface for identifying the orientation of the sealing foil is determined. A laboratory automation system for carrying out the method and/or with the device is also presented.
Transgrip arm assembly with quick change connection
A transgrip spindle assembly includes a ball head coupler. A transgrip arm includes a quick change bore, and a lateral bore opening orthogonally into the quick change bore. A cam lock assembly includes a cylindrical body, and a ball head bore radially penetrating the cylindrical body for alignment with the quick change bore. The cylindrical body is receivable in the transgrip arm. The transgrip arm is coupleable with the transgrip spindle assembly by coupling the ball head coupler with the cylindrical body.
HEADSPACE MODIFICATION METHOD FOR REMOVAL OF VACUUM PRESSURE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
Systems and methods for filling containers with heated fluids are described. In some embodiments, a method may include one or more of introducing a fluid through an open end of the container, providing a seal or cap to close and seal the filled container, cooling the heated fluid to create a first internal vacuum pressure, providing a pressurizing chamber, providing or creating an opening through the seal or cap, providing at least one fluid through the opening or aperture, and sealing the opening or aperture under a second internal pressure higher than the first internal vacuum pressure.
Rotary lid feeding for overcapper applications
An apparatus for dispensing lids has at least one magazine lane including an entrance end, an exit end, and a longitudinal length defined therebetween. The at least one magazine lane further includes a plurality of side guides along the longitudinal length for guiding the lids therebetween and a pair of rollers for carrying the lids thereon. The apparatus further has a throat plate at or near the exit end, the throat plate including an opening. At least one of the throat plate, the side guides, or the rollers is adaptable so as to accommodate different sizes and/or shapes of lids.
Method and Apparatus for Gripping and Holding Dispensing Elements, Having a Flange and a Screw Cap, for Subsequent Application onto Packages
A method and apparatus are represented and described for gripping and holding dispensing elements, having a flange and a screw cap, for subsequent application onto packages, wherein the dispensing elements are linearly supplied to the apparatus in an aligned position and wherein each dispensing element is gripped individually by gripper jaws of a gripping device and is applied by means of its flange onto a package. In order that an applicator with smaller structural height can, even in the case of higher speeds, also reliably provide packages comprising an oblique gable with a dispensing elements, the following steps are provided: raising each gripping device into a start position above the supplied dispensing elements, lowering each gripping device with opened gripper jaws from their highest position to a dispensing element provided therebelow, wherein the transport speed of the gripping device and the transport belt are synchronised, pulling a dispensing element with opened gripper jaws to a flat delivery region, gripping a dispensing element by closing the gripper jaws, lowering each gripping device with gripped dispensing element to a package transported therebelow in an application position, pressing the dispensing element onto the package for a predefined time, and releasing the applied dispensing element and raising each gripping device to receive a newly-supplied dispensing element.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE HIGH-SPEED APPLICATION OF PAPER-BASED END CLOSURES ON COMPOSITE CONTAINERS
A system for assembling a container and closure comprising an expanding collet which has a plurality of pivoting collet segments, each configured to simultaneously pivot radially outward about a pivot point and comprising. The collet comprises a lip that is engagable with the rim of the open end of the container and an angled tip positioned radially inward from the lip and shaped to press a countersink portion of the closure against an interior wall of the container as the collet segments pivot radially outward. As the container and the chuck are brought together, the rim engages with the lips of the collet segments and causes the angled tips of the collet segments to pivot outward toward the interior wall of the container, thereby pushing the countersink portion of the closure against the interior wall of the container.
Devices and methods for supplying lids to a can seamer
A device for supplying lids to a can seamer includes a destacking screw for conveying lids that are fed in via a lid feed, for transferring the correctly separated lids to a downstream transport and/or treatment device, and for interrupting the supply of the lids to the downstream transport and/or treatment device in the event of an interruption of production. Methods for supplying lids to a can seamer are also provided.
CAPSULE-SEALING MACHINE EQUIPPED WITH AN IMPROVED TYPE OF SEALING HEAD FOR APPLYING A COVERING CAPSULE TO THE TOP SURFACES OF CANS AND THEIR IMPROVED SEALING HEAD AND CAN EQUIPPED WITH THE COVERING CAPSULE
The invention relates to a capsule-sealing machine having an improved type of sealing head for applying a covering capsule or covering capsule to top surfaces of cans and related improved sealing head and can equipped with a respective covering capsule. The sealing head for applying a covering capsule to a surface of a can to be capsule-sealed, the can comprising an edge and an opening covered by tab for dispensing the contents of the same can, the sealing head comprising:
a plurality of circular sealing sectors arranged around a vertical movement axis of the same head and suitable for interfere, through a conformed lower end thereof and with the interposed covering capsule, with a circumference of the can edge when the can approaches the sealing head during a processing step in a capsule-sealing station of the capsule-sealing machine,
elastic means coupled to said circular sealing sectors for counteracting axial movement of said circular sectors as they meet the covering capsule and the can edge surrounds,
heating means connected to said sealing circular sectors suitable to bring said circular sectors to a given and fixed sealing temperature.
A peculiarity of the invention is to comprise elastic means with different stiffness when coupled to the circular sealing sectors, with higher stiffness when coupled to circular sectors positioned in correspondence of distal points with respect to an edge of the can adjacent to the opening of the can, elastic means with lower stiffnesses when coupled to circular sectors positioned at points proximal to said can edge adjacent to said opening.
