Cable Tie Tightening Device with Cutting Functionality
Disclosed are cable tie tightening devices with cutting functionality, including a gripping unit configured to grip and pull a cable tie strap until an adjustable force limit is reached, a cutting unit configured to cut the strap, an actuator unit configured to automatically actuate gripping and cutting units, a force adjusting unit configured to adjust the adjustable force limit, where the gripping unit is attached to a piston element of the actuator unit at one side and the force adjusting unit includes a retaining element configured to retain a cylinder element of the actuator unit in a given position until the adjustable force limit is reached, while the retaining element is configured to be connected directly with the cylinder element when retaining the cylinder element in the given position, and to be disconnected from the cylinder element when the adjustable force limit is reached or exceeded.
Externally-Powered Strapping Tool And A Strapping Tool Assembly Utilized Therein
Disclosed herein is an externally-powered strapping tool that includes a strapping tool assembly configured to perform one or more strapping operations; and an external power source operatively coupled thereto, the external power source being attached to the strapping tool assembly in a substantially immovable manner. Also disclosed herein is a strapping tool assembly that includes one or more strapping tool subassemblies configured to perform one or more strapping operations; a power transfer subassembly operatively coupled to the one or more strapping tool subassemblies, the power transfer subassembly configured to transfer motive power from the external power source to the one or more strapping tool subassemblies; and attachment means configured to releasably attach the strapping tool assembly to the external power source, the attachment means further configured to hold the external power source in a substantially fixed position relative to the strapping tool assembly when the attachment means is engaged.
CABLE TIE FINGER MANIPULATION STRUCTURE
Method and apparatus for installing a cable tie about a bundle. The cable tie has a ratcheting head and a strap with a ratcheting pattern configured to engage the ratcheting head to encircle and secure a bundle. A finger engagement structure includes a ratcheting element configured to ratchetingly engage the cable tie, and a contact member configured to facilitate tightening of the cable tie and securement of the bundle to a substrate. The ratcheting element may comprise a second ratcheting head configured to engage the ratcheting pattern of the cable tie, and the contact member may comprise a selected one of a ring, a plate or a third ratcheting head. Alternatively, the ratcheting element may comprise a second strap having a second ratcheting pattern configured to engage a second ratcheting head of the cable tie, and the contact member may comprise a plate from which the second strap extends.
Cable tie tool
A tool for tensioning and severing a cable tie comprising, inter alia, a reel magazine assembly, configured to retainingly receive at least one cable strap reel and provide for a spring-biased rotation of said at least one cable strap reel about a cable strap reel center axis, wherein said spring-biased rotation is directed so as to wind up a cable tie strap coiled up onto said cable strap reel; a feeder guide mechanism, provided within said barrel portion, configured to guidingly receive an end portion of said cable tie strap of said cable strap reel and move said cable tie strap from said cable strap reel through said barrel portion towards said distal housing end portion, but prevent movement of said cable tie strap back towards said cable strap reel; a locking heads magazine assembly, configured to store a plurality of locking heads and supply one locking head at the time for use with said cable tie strap, and a blade guard, operably coupled between said cut-off mechanism and said locking heads magazine assembly, configured to receive and move said locking head from said locking heads magazine assembly into a loading position, ready for engagement with said cable tie strap.
CABLE TIE TENSIONING DEVICE WITH CUTTING ASSEMBLY
A cable tie tensioning device is provided. The cable tie tensioning device includes a tensioning assembly configured to at least partially receive a cable tie and apply tension to the cable tie. The cable tie tensioning device further includes a cutting assembly configured to cut the cable tie after the tension has been applied to the cable tie with the tensioning assembly. The cutting assembly includes a cutting motor configured to actuate a mechanical system to perform a cutting action of the cable tie. The cutting motor is separate from a motor associated with the tensioning assembly.
CABLE TIE TENSION DEVICE WITH CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL SYSTEM
A cable tie tensioning device is provided. The device includes a tensioning assembly configured to at least partially receive a cable tie and apply tension to the cable tie, and a user interface configured to receive as input a target tension to be applied by the tensioning assembly to the cable tie. The device further includes a sensor configured to measure an actual tension being applied by the tensioning assembly to the cable tie during operation of the tensioning assembly. The device further includes a controller in communication with the tensioning assembly, the user interface, and the sensor. The controller is configured to adjust operation of the tensioning assembly based on the measured actual tension from the sensor to achieve the target tension input at the user interface.
Strapping tool
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a strapping tool configured to tension metal strap around a load and, after tensioning, attach overlapping portions of the strap to one another by cutting notches into a seal element positioned around the overlapping portions of the strap and into the overlapping portions of the strap themselves.
