Label application with release liner disposal
A printer prints label data on a self-adhesive label that has a tabbed backing to produce a printed label on the tabbed backing. Also, a label feeder is positioned relative to the printer to transport the printed label on the tabbed backing away from the printer. A label applicator is positioned, relative to the feeder, to remove the printed label on the tabbed backing from the feeder. The tabbed backing includes a first section, covering an adhesive area of the printed label, and a tab extending from the first section. The label applicator includes a holder, that is shaped to grasp the tab of the tabbed backing, and a moveable element that is configured to remove the printed label from the tabbed backing and affix the adhesive area of the printed label to an item.
Method and apparatus for removing unattached labels from a label applicator system
A device for removing labels from a label applicator in a produce labeling system is provided. The device includes a label pickup roller positioned in the downstream path of the label applicator. A spindle is positioned on the machine such that the label pickup roller can be positioned as described. When a label attempted to be applied to produce from the label applicator does not get applied for any reason, the pickup roller removes this unapplied label from the label applicator before the label applicator travels back to the label dispenser to receive another label for the next labeling cycle.
Machine and method for its operation
A labelling machine comprises a supply spool support for supporting a supply spool comprising label stock comprising a web and a plurality of labels attached to the web and which are separable from the web; a take-up spool support adapted to take up a portion of web; a motive means configured to propel the web along a web path from the supply spool support towards the take up spool support. A sensor has a transmitter portion and a receiver portion, the receiver portion comprising a plurality of receivers, the transmitter portion and receiver portion are configured to receive a portion of the label stock therebetween, and the plurality of receivers are each configured to produce a respective sensor signal which is a function of a property of a portion of label stock at a plurality of positions spaced from one another in a direction non-parallel to the web path. In addition, a controller is configured to monitor each of the sensor signals produced by the receivers and to select one of the sensor signals produced by the receivers based on said monitoring of each of the sensor signals produced by the receivers.
BATTERY LABEL ALIGNMENT DEVICE AND METHOD
A battery label attachment apparatus for attaching a label to a battery including a label support on which the label is placed, an alignment check part configured to check whether an alignment state of the label is normal or defective, and a label aligning part configured to align the label when the alignment state determined by the alignment check part is defective is provided. A method for attaching a label to a battery is also provided.
LABEL PRINTER AND LABEL PRINTER CONTROL METHOD
According to one embodiment, a label printer for printing labels attached to a mount is provided. The label printer includes detection unit configured to detect a peel-off state of a label to be printed and a printing unit configured to control printing of labels on the mount according to the detected peel-off state of the label to be printed. When the detected peel-off state is total peel-off, the printing unit is configured to advance the mount to a next label on the mount, and when the detected peel-off state is partial peel-off, the printing unit is configured to not print on the label.
LABEL SUPPLY APPARATUS AND LABEL RECOVERY APPARATUS
A label supply apparatus includes a suction portion having a suction surface on which a label with an adhesive is to be held, sensors on the suction surface, and a controller configured to determine whether the label is held on the suction surface at a proper position or an improper position based on sensing results from the sensors.
Management device, image forming apparatus, medium application system, management method, and computer-readable recording medium
According to an embodiment, management device includes an image formation data management unit and an inspection unit. The image formation data management unit is configured to create a formation order indicating an order of forming an image corresponding to image formation data on a medium to be applied to an application target object. The inspection unit is configured to inspect whether the image formation data in accordance with the formation order matches with a read image obtained by reading the image formed on the medium in accordance with the formation order. The image formation data management unit transmits state information in which the formation order is associated with an image formation state based on at least one of an image formation result of the image formation data and an inspection result obtained by the inspection unit.
System and method for applying tubular shrink sleeve material to containers
A machine for applying tubular film to products includes a film feed path along which a supply of continuous tubular film is fed, and a sleeve eject station at which the film tubing is cut into sleeves that are ejected onto products passing the sleeve eject station. At least one sensor is positioned along the film feed path upstream of the sleeve eject station for detecting a splice in tubular film traveling along the film feed path. A controller is configured for controlling the machine such that, upon detection of a splice in the tubular film, a defective sleeve that includes the splice thereon is ejected into a gap between successive products so as to prevent application of the defective sleeve to any product.
Integrated label printer and barcode reader, and related systems and methods
A labeling device includes a printer configured to print labels each having a barcode on a print side of the label opposite an adhesive side of the label. The printer is also configured to direct each printed label in a direction of travel. The device includes a label applicator located downstream of the printer with respect to the direction of travel. The device also includes a barcode scanner that is located downstream of the printer with respect to the direction of travel and is configured to scan the barcode of each label before the label applicator presses the label against the package.
