Seal Integrity Indicator for a Sterilization Container

Seal integrity indicators for sterilization containers are provided. For example, a seal indicator may indicate whether the container is sufficiently sealed to prevent an ingress of contaminants into the container. If the container is sufficiently sealed, the seal indicator is visible, but if not, the seal indicator is not visible. Thus, the seal indicator undergoes a change in state when the sterilization container transitions from unsealed to sealed, or vice versa, such that a user may ascertain whether the container is properly sealed to maintain the container's sterility. An exemplary seal indicator includes an invertible projection formed with the container gasket that is not visible from outside the container until inverted, due to force applied by the lid, to extend through an opening in the container body. Closure mechanisms for sterilization containers also are provided.

Filter-Gasket Assembly with Seal and Placement Indicator for Sterilization Rigid Container

Sterilization packaging systems with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants are provided. Such features include a sealing assembly including a gasket and a sheet of filter material. The sealing assembly seals a lid to a seal rim of a base. The gasket has an upper surface, outer edge, and inner edge. The upper surface of the gasket comprises a first row of alternating protrusions and indentations and a second row of alternating protrusions and indentations that define a channel therebetween. The sheet of filter material extends from an inner edge of the gasket. The gasket completely surrounds the sheet of filter material, wherein the indentations and channel facilitate delivery of a sterilization agent through the filter material. A sterilization assembly including a lid having a plurality of protrusions in its upper surface in conjunction with a gasket having a smooth upper surface is also provided.

Pressure equalizing closure

The present invention provides a closure for a hot-fill container comprising: a cap member having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a wall portion having an outer surface and an inner surface wherein the inner surface comprises threads to mate with a threaded neck finish of a hot-fill container; a flexible diaphragm member comprising: at least one flexible portion in a first position and a sealing lip portion to seal a liquid in the container thus preventing the liquid from traveling to the threaded neck finish of the container; and a disc member interposed between the cap member and the diaphragm member, wherein the disc member comprises: a hydrophobic filter membrane and at least one vent providing a path for air to travel from an area near the threads to the hydrophobic filter member, wherein the flexible diaphragm member flexes to compensate for a change in pressure within the container by transitioning downwards in response to a decrease in pressure and/or by transitioning upwards in response to an increase in pressure.

A packing sheet for discharging gas according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention has a structure in which a first layer and a second layer, which are configured such that gas flows between one surface and the other surface, are stacked, and includes: a lamination portion which is formed by partially laminating the first layer and the second layer; and a gap portion which is a region other than a region of the lamination portion and has a space formed between the first layer and the second layer so that the gas flows in the space. According to the packing sheet for discharging gas, a space, in which gas may flow, is formed by partially laminating the first layer having fine bores and the second layer made of a gas-permeable waterproof material, and as a result, it is possible to prevent a liquid leakage while smoothly discharging the gas created in the container.

A liquid dispenser is for the delivery of pharmaceutical liquids, including a droplet dispenser, the liquid reservoir thereof being formed by a squeezable bottle body. Two measures secure the liquid dispenser, namely the provision of a cover body, an application of force on the squeezable bottle body being able to be prevented thereby, as well as a cap with a rotatable locking ring. The removal of the cap and the transfer of the cover body into a use position requires the deformation of an annular partial element.

Container
10507441 · 2019-12-17 · ·

A container for self-gassing liquids, the container comprising a receptacle and an insert arranged to seat within a neck of the receptacle, the insert being further arranged to engage and seal directly or indirectly with a connector extending across the neck of the receptacle. The insert defines a void defined by a base portion of the insert and a peripheral side wall of the insert extending within the neck of the receptacle, the insert comprising a hole in the base portion. The container further comprises a dip tube extending from a lower surface of the base portion to, or towards, the bottom of the receptacle. The dip tube defines a passageway through the base portion, or is connected and sealed to the lower side of a passageway through the insert, the passageway terminating in said void such that the hole and the passageway are in fluid communication with each other through the void. Self-gassing liquids may be safely stored and transported in the container without risk of over-pressurisation of the internal volume of the container, which may also be quickly and easily installed into a dispensing device by the end user, requiring minimal handling by the user.

Methods and systems for mating disposable syringes with pneumatic drivers without breaking sterility

A pneumatic driver for a syringe is provided. The syringe has an elongated barrel with a cap secured to the proximal end that has a through bore. A filter is secured to the cap interior of the barrel that covers an opening in the through bore interior of the barrel. The pneumatic driver includes a source of pressurized air; a support for receiving and locating the syringe; and a supply block configured to receive pressurized air from the source and having an outlet for delivery of pressurized air. The supply block is movable between a first position spaced apart from the cap of the syringe and a second position in contact with the cap with fluid communication being established between the outlet of the supply block and the through-bore in the cap.
