SELF-VENTING CLOSURE
A self-venting closure assembly includes a closure body having a deck with a peripheral mounting skirt and an annular seal on an underside of the deck adjacent to the peripheral mounting skirt. The closure body further includes a circular valve seat within the center portion of the deck, and a plurality of vent openings circumferentially spaced within the valve seat. An elastomeric umbrella valve is centrally mounted to the deck and has a frustoconical valve flap arranged on an underside of the valve seat. The valve flap cooperates with the vent openings to normally seal the vent openings but permits air to flow into an interior of the closure body when a vacuum is applied to an interior of the container on which the closure is mounted.

Stopper assembly, use of a stopper assembly
Stopper assembly for a serving device configured to be positioned in a neck of a container, such as a bottle, wherein the stopper assembly comprises a body element arranged to fit in the serving device; a valve element mountable on the body element, wherein the body element extends substantially in a direction transverse to the valve element; and a handling element that is connectable to the valve element and extending in a direction substantially transverse to the valve element at an opposite side of the body element, such that the valve element is arranged in between the handling element and the body element.
Preservation Method
A method of preserving an oxygen sensitive item is disclosed. The method involves injecting at least 0.15 gram of an inert gas into a container comprising the oxygen sensitive item and oxygen, without raising a pressure within the container above 10 psig, to form a barrier layer of the inert gas between the oxygen sensitive item and the oxygen in the container without displacing all of the oxygen from the container.
Pressure relief cap
A pressure relief cap includes a body engageable with a container and rotatable about an axis to couple or decouple the body from the container, a handle is coupled to the body and rotatable about the axis in a loosening direction and an opposite, tightening direction and, a ring member coupled for co-rotation with the handle in the loosening direction. The cap includes relief valve assembly coupled to the body. The ring member and the body include a lost motion region in which the ring member is rotatable relative to the body in the loosening direction. Rotation of the ring member relative to the body in the loosening direction in the lost motion region opens the relief valve assembly. Rotation of the ring member in the loosening direction beyond the lost motion region causes the body to co-rotate with the ring member in the loosening direction.
Fusible cap assembly
A cap assembly for a container and a method of assembly. The cap assembly includes a housing couplable to a container opening, the housing defining a housing opening communicating with the container opening; a cover operable to close the housing opening; and a retainer mechanism operable to releasably connect the cover to the housing, the retainer mechanism including a non-fusible member selectively contacting the cover and the housing, and a fusible member operable to hold the non-fusible member in contact with the cover and the housing in a retaining condition, the fusible member deforming at or above a threshold of the condition to allow the non-fusible member to move out of contact with one of the cover and the housing, in a release condition, to open the container opening to atmosphere.
Container set having a locking structure
A container set includes a cover, a base, the cover having a cover sealing member which is made of elastic material and protrudes from a cover peripheral edge of the cover to allow the cover to engage the base, and a first container received between the cover and the base and having a container edge to allow the first container to engage an inner surface of the cover. In addition, the inner surface of the base has a base groove to allow the cover sealing member to engage the base groove when the cover engages the base, wherein the container edge, the cover sealing member and the base groove constitute an interlocking structure. With this interlocking structure, the cover, the base and the container(s) located therebetween can form a tightly engaged container set.
Container with irremovable closure to facilitate dispensation of contents
A container and closure combination, for the containment of fluids and extraction therefrom by way of an extraction tube. The container comprises a closed volume with an opening configured to close the opening of the container; the closure is provided with an aperture such that the closure, upon fitment to the container opening, cannot be removed therefrom. The aperture of the closure comprises a unitary elastic unidirectional valve member that can operate in a first, closed condition, to prevent a flow of fluid from the container; and a second, operational condition, with an extraction tube sealingly engaged with respect to the valve, to permit an extraction of fluid from the container through the tube.
CONTAINER SEALING DEVICE AND CONTAINER SYSTEM
A sealing device for a container and a container system that includes the sealing device is provided. The sealing device includes a substantially rigid center body and an elastically deformable seal member attached to the center body. The substantially rigid center body has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a peripheral edge extending between the top surface and the bottom surface. At least a portion of the elastically deformable seal member extending outwardly past the peripheral edge of the center body. The container system includes a container with an interior cavity defined by at least one side wall and a base wall. One or more grooves is disposed in an interior surface of the at least one side wall.
Bottle Assembly and Valve Assembly
A bottle assembly is provided including a bottle having an end portion with a first detent formation, and a collar having a second complementary detent formation. The collar is arranged to snap fit to the end portion by engagement of the detent formations by application of force only in a direction towards the bottle. In addition, a valve assembly for use with a drinking vessel is provided including a base member and a sealing member. The sealing member is movable, dependent on a pressure difference across it, between a sealed position, wherein the sealing member is sealed against the base member, and an unsealed position, wherein the sealing member is unsealed from the base member. One or more channels are formed between the base member and the sealing member and are arranged to allow air to enter the drinking vessel when the sealing member is in the unsealed position.
