METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING A WEB OF A FLEXIBLE, PLASTIC PACKAGING MATERIAL AND FLEXIBLE POUCH PACKAGE
A method for providing a web (30) of flexible, plastic packaging material with a succession of dimples (9) forming indentations for straw insertion, comprising feeding the web (30) of packaging material through a first nip (52) defined by a first pair (51) of rotating rollers, and cyclically engaging the web (30) from a first side (31) by a protrusion (55) supported by a first roller (53) of said first pair (51) of rotating rollers for forming the succession of dimples (9) in the web (30) of packaging material. The invention also relates to a corresponding apparatus and a flexible pouch package comprising a dimple.
Container structure with a built-in opening and reclosing feature
Containers are described that allow a consumer to see inside the container and to more easily access the products. One form of the container includes a base member with a lid defining a window. A flexible laminate with a peelable flap portion is attached to the lid to provide access to the products inside. The flexible laminate includes a first film layer laminated to a second film layer. The first film layer includes a first cut line defining a peelable flap portion and the second film layer includes a second cut line offset from the first cut line that defines an opening into the container. First and second reclose surfaces defined between the cut lines on the corresponding film layers include pressure-sensitive adhesive to allow the container to be re-sealed via movement of the peelable flap portion back into engagement with the flexible laminate remaining with the container.
LAMINATE STRUCTURE WITH ACCESS OPENINGS
A laminate structure is provided for forming a package, where the laminate structure allows for access openings to be provided upon peeling of the layers. The access openings may allow air to be introduced to the contents, such as to cause an exothermic reaction for heating items, or may allow product to be dispensed from the package. The laminate structure includes a first layer laminated to a second layer via an adhesive, and score lines are formed in the second layer to define plug areas and non-plug areas. The plug areas are configured to result in a peel interface line that occurs across a constant ratio of plug areas to non-plug areas along a predefined distance of a peel area of the laminate structure. Thus, when the first layer is peeled away from the second layer, the peel force needed remains relatively uniform across the predefined distance.
POUCH WITH FLEXIBLE SELF-SEALING DISPENSING VALVE
The present invention is directed to fluid-dispensing flexible pouches having at least a first wall portion, a second wall portion and a means to manually discharge a fluid product from inside the pouch. The means to manually discharge a fluid from inside the pouch comprises an orifice formed in either one of the first or second wall portions or a patch, and a flexible self-sealing dispensing valve having at least two intersecting lines of weakness formed in either one of the first or second wall portions or the patch.

MULTI-PORTION REMOVABLE COVER APPARATUS AND RELAED METHODS
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for sealing openings on containers and other structures, permitting selective removal of portions of the seal structure, and for similar selective removal of portions of adhesive elements such as bandages.
Resealable Closure
A resealable label includes a first section and a second section, the first section having a plurality of layers including at least a facestock layer and a first adhesive layer, and the second section having a plurality of layers including at least a base layer and a second adhesive layer. The first section is positioned relative to the second section such that the first adhesive layer and base layer are in confronting relationship with one another and are positioned between the facestock layer and the second adhesive layer. And the first section is positioned relative to the second section such that the first section extends beyond the second section such that at least a portion of the first adhesive layer is exposed and not in contact with any portion of the second section.
Sealing bag for hydrogen gas, and method for dissolving hydrogen gas
The present invention aims at dissolving hydrogen gas in a liquid and maintaining the solubility of the hydrogen gas in the liquid at a high state. A sealing bag 1 that dissolves hydrogen gas in a liquid by being put into the liquid includes a hydrogen permeable film that can permeate hydrogen gas that is sealed and filled in the sealing bag to outside. By sinking this sealing bag 1 into the liquid in advance, the hydrogen gas that is permeated through the hydrogen permeable film is dissolved in the liquid. Furthermore, since the hydrogen gas is continuously permeated little by little through the hydrogen permeable film, the solubility of the hydrogen in the liquid can be maintained at a high state.
Opening/closing device for a disposable flexible container
The opening/closing device for a disposable flexible container includes a base sheet (1) having a first layer (1a) with a lower surface covered by a first adhesive (3), a second layer (1b) attached on the first layer (1a) by a second adhesive (8a), and contour cuts (5) defining an opening/closing flap (2) connected to the rest of the base sheet (1) by a fold line (6) that has aligned discontinuous cuts affecting both the first and second layers (1a, 1b) and the first and second adhesives (3, 8a). Optionally, the base sheet (1) includes a third layer (1c) attached on the second layer (1b) by a third adhesive (8b), and optionally the aligned discontinuous cuts of the fold line (6) also affect the third layer (1c).
CONTAINER ASSEMBLY FOR HEAT SENSITIVE MATERIAL
A container assembly includes a main container having an opening. A cap closes the opening. An externally open recess on the main container or the cap receives a tub. Removable packaging is disposed around the container assembly such that the tub is retained in the recess. The main container may include a liquid nutritional composition. The tub may include a heat sensitive material, such as a probiotic or lactoferrin for addition to the main container by a user.
