Structure of aquarium filter
An improved structure of the aquarium filter includes a filter cloth made of nonwoven fabric with small pores and high density that is installed on the outermost layer of the filter, an activated carbon filter sheet that wraps within the filter cloth and can deodorize smell and filter impurities, and a filter net made of resin foam with large pores and low density that wraps within the activated carbon filter sheet. The filter is made of filter materials in multiple layers that are formed individually by one single process so that the production cost can be reduced. Furthermore, a support frame is installed on the aquarium. A support platform is set on the support frame on which the planting unit sits. The filter is placed on the uppermost support platform. Nutrients generated from the decomposition of fish excreta in the water are absorbed by plants.
VACUUM AIR LIFT SYSTEMS INCLUDING A PHOTOBIOREACTOR
A vacuum airlift system for treating an aqueous effluent includes an upflow liquid portion, where the upflow liquid portion is configured to retain a fluid, and a fluid inlet, the fluid inlet being fluidly coupled with the upflow liquid portion, where the fluid inlet is positioned at about a bottom of the upflow liquid portion. The vacuum airlift system can also include a downflow liquid portion, where the downflow liquid portion is fluidly coupled with the upflow liquid portion, and a fluid outlet, the fluid outlet being fluidly coupled with the downflow liquid portion, where the fluid outlet is positioned at about a bottom of the downflow liquid portion. The vacuum airlift system can also include a photobioreactor fluidly coupled with the downflow liquid portion such that the fluid is configured to pass through the upflow liquid portion, into the downflow liquid portion, and into the photobioreactor.
IMPELLER ASSEMBLY FOR USE IN AN AQUARIUM FILTER PUMP AND METHODS
An impeller for use in an aquarium filter pump includes a shaft and a plurality of impeller blades radially extending from the shaft. Each of the impeller blades includes opposite blade faces. A depression is in each of the blade faces and aids in pushing the water. The depression can be a variety of shapes and can have its deepest portion along one of the edges of the blade.
Systems and methods of intensive recirculating aquaculture
Systems and methods for intensive recirculating aquaculture are provided herein. An example system includes water sourced from a first segment of a saline aquifer, a recirculating aquaculture system receiving the sourced water and producing discharge water, and a water discharge point located within second segment of the saline aquifer disposed below the first segment of the saline aquifer.
System and method for solar greenhouse aquaponics and black soldier fly composter and auto fish feeder
An aquaponics and greenhouse system, includes an insulated solar greenhouse with a glazing on a sun facing side at an angle to maximize winter sunlight, and housing a fish tank housed within the solar greenhouse; a plant growing area housed within the solar greenhouse; a mushroom growing area housed within the solar greenhouse; a water wall thermal mass housed within the solar greenhouse and disposed between the plant growing area and mushroom growing area; and a natural air ventilation system housed within the solar greenhouse and configured to provide misted air into the mushroom growing area. O2 generated by the plant growing area is received by the natural air ventilation system and provided to the mushroom growing area, and CO2 generated by the mushroom growing area is provided to the plant growing area.
POWER GENERATION APPARATUS AND AQUARIUM EQUIPMENT
Provided are a power generation apparatus and an aquarium equipment. The power generation apparatus includes a water pump and a magnetic induction generator. The water pump includes a housing, a stator mounted in the housing, a first rotor assembly, and an impeller connected to the first rotor assembly. The first rotor assembly includes a first permanent magnet rotor and a first rotating shaft disposed at an axis of the first permanent magnet rotor. The first permanent magnet rotor is disposed adjacent to the stator. The magnetic induction generator is disposed adjacent to the stator or to the first permanent magnet rotor and is operative to be coupled to an electric device. The stator includes a coil winding operative to be coupled to an external power source, so that when the coil winding is coupled to an input alternating current, the first permanent magnet rotor rotates enabling the magnetic induction generator to generate an induced current to power up the electric device. The aquarium equipment includes the power generation apparatus described above.
Scaling-up off-flavor compound degradation using aquaculture reacting canister technology
A catalytic reactor using catalyst-coated optical fiber technology that will allow the control of light and its emission mode to quantitatively optimize catalytic degradation of off-flavor compounds. This degradation can be greatly enhanced by increasing the surface area of the catalyst. Coating individual transparent optical fibers and aligning them in a canister configuration allows the treatment of large volumes of water in portable and scalable reactors.
Aquarium filter arrangement with control valve
A filter arrangement for an aquarium is disclosed. The filter arrangement can include a housing assembly, a pump assembly, a transfer tube assembly, and a valve assembly for controlling water flow through the transfer tube assembly. The transfer tube assembly can include a tube structure within which a valve body of the valve assembly is rotatably disposed. The tube structure can be formed from a first tube half mated to a second tube half to permanently secure the valve body within the tube structure. A valve operator can be connected to the valve body to advantageously allow a user to manipulate the flow of water through the transfer tube assembly. Control of water flow through the filter arrangement is beneficial for obtaining a desired water flow for a certain aquarium size and application and for reducing flow during certain periods, such as during feeding.
Aquarium with integrated cleaning system
Various embodiments of an aquarium and its method of use are disclosed. In some embodiments, the aquarium includes a first container for holding water and fish, plants, and/or other aquatic organism, a second container for collecting dirty water, and a passageway arranged to flush water from the first container to the second container. The passageway is in fluid communication with an outlet of the first container. The second container is arranged to receive the outlet such that fluid flows from the passageway, through the outlet, and into the second container. The outlet may be selectively opened by a user via a valve. Opening the valve causes gravity to flush water and debris from the first container, through the passageway, through the valve and into the second container, where the dirty water can be stored or discarded by disconnecting the second container from the aquarium ad dumping the dirty water.
