A livewell system may include a livewell tank having a chamber formed therein, a fill sensor configured to detect a fill level of the chamber, an intake pump configured to selectively convey water into the chamber, and a control unit including a processor and a memory storing instructions. The processor may be configured to execute the instructions to receive a fill signal, determine whether the chamber is filled to a predetermined fill level; and in response to the fill signal and a determination that the chamber is not filled to the predetermined fill level, cause the intake pump to convey water into the chamber.

AUTOMATED, MODULAR, SELF-CONTAINED, AQUAPONICS GROWING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A shipping container that includes a greenhouse mounted above an aqueous tank or tanks. Aquaponics fruits and vegetables grow in greenhouse in vertical and horizontal grow systems, while fish are grown in the tanks. Water flows between all plants and fish with no soil. The system is run by a computer automation system which operates on data obtained by various sensors and control components that include automated control valves, fish feeders, temperature and water flow measurements. The container can be operated from an established grid or can run off-grid with solar or other renewable energy sources. Part of the water needed for the system can be collected from rainfall. All necessary components except for the water, fish and plant seedlings are delivered in the shipping container.

Automatic Backup Power Controller for Aquarium Use
20230179012 · 2023-06-08 ·

An automatic backup power controller for aquarium use. When the Backup Box taught by the present invention has normal power applied to it, it energizes the 12-48 volt DC coil and closes the Normally Open side of the relay which sends 12-48 volts through the relay and to the connected pump or power head that is connected to the output port on the Backup Box. When normal power is lost the coil will DE-energize thus opening the Normally Open side of the relay in turn causing the Normally Closed side of the relay to close and send 12-48 volts DC battery power through the Normally Closed side of the relay through the fuse and to the Output connection on the Backup Box. The Output connection on the Backup Box is common to both the Normally Open and Normally Closed terminals on the Relay depending on the state it is in.

An aquarium includes a first chamber arranged to contain a first volume of liquid, a dry chamber that is adjacent the first chamber and defines a second volume, and a removable element at least partially disposed within the dry chamber. The removable element is selectively removable from the dry chamber. The aquarium also includes a filter at least partially disposed within the removable element, and a pump including an intake and an outlet. The intake is arranged to draw a flow of liquid from the first volume of liquid during pump operation. The aquarium also includes a tube having a first end connected to the outlet and a second end movable between a first position in which the flow of liquid passes through the filter and is then discharged into the first volume and a second position in which the flow of liquid flows directly into the first volume.

HORIZONTAL BAIT TUBE

A system is provided that promotes ram ventilation for aquatic animals stored therein. The system includes a horizontally oriented container that maintains fluid flow in one predominant direction with a first end of the horizontally oriented container receiving a first volume of fluid and a second end expelling a second volume of fluid. The second end is provided at an opposite side of the horizontally oriented container than the first end. A slot is provided that extends along a lengthwise direction of the horizontally oriented container between the first and second ends. The slot is positioned along an upper portion of the horizontally oriented container. For example, if the horizontally oriented container is tube-shaped, the slot is provided at an uppermost point on the circumference of a horizontally oriented tube directly across from a point on the tube that contacts an underlying surface such a transom of the fishing vessel.

Compact photobioreactor with built-in lights

A photobioreactor device for growing photosynthetic organisms, organisms that feed on photosynthetic organisms and hydroponics is disclosed. The device may include a lighting system integrated around the circumference of the device. In embodiments, a cap configured to seal the container has ports configured to permit passage of fluid out of or into a container without removing the cap. In some embodiments, organisms are grown in a disposable bag secured between the cap and the container.

Concentration Control of Living Organisms in Fluid

The invention comprises a method, a device and a fish-farm for controlling the concentration of living organisms in fluid in order to facilitate the handling of the organisms such as grading and counting. Said apparatus comprises a first in-feed channel for a flow of living organism in a fluid (1), a second in-feed channel for a flow of fluid (2), a chamber (4) containing a lever (11) for regulating the flow from the first and the second in-feed channel through the chamber, an outlet (15), and a computer, wherein a sensor (9) is positioned in the first in-feed channel for detecting the density of living organism in the flow, and wherein the computer continuously and automatically regulates the ratio of flow from the first and the second in-feed channel through the chamber and towards the outlet by the lever in response to the density of living organism in the flow determined by the sensor.

Sustainable Aquaponic System and Method for Growing Useful Plants and for Treating Gray Water
20170231174 · 2017-08-17 ·

A system and method of sustainable aquaponics that vertically integrates unique aquaponic system designs with alternative aquaculture fish feed sources, fingerling production methods, alternative aquaculture/farmed fish grow out models, and green energy sources that yield organic produce in the form of fruits and vegetables. A raceway system serves as the hub for grow-out throughout the warm and cold months. During the summer months, fish can be spawned and fed for steady growth, while during the winter months, the fish continue to grow at slower quite acceptable growth rates. Plants like legal (licensed) cannabis for medical use can be grown in plant areas near the raceways with very high yields. The system may also be used to reclaim gray water using the biology of the system to purify it for agricultural use.
