Container for transport and storage of food products

Systems and methods for providing compostable food containers which preserve the quality of a food product for an extended duration of time, and which optionally allow for cooking of the food product therein. In some implementations, the food containers are sturdy, stackable, insulating, and require minimal or no manual labor to assemble. In some implementations, the food container includes a base and a cover which cooperate to form a closed chamber for supporting, protecting, insulating and optionally cooking a food product, such as a pizza. The base and cover may each be formed of a single layer of material including, but not limited to, molded sugarcane fiber (bagasse), molded wood fiber, molded bamboo fiber, molded paper or plastic. The base and/or the cover may include one or more detachable portions that may be selectively separable from the remaining portion of the base and/or cover.

CONTAINER INCLUDING DRAINAGE FEATURES AND HANDLE

A container is disclosed herein that includes a plurality of sidewalls defining an upper rim, and a base. At least one handle is defined integrally with at least one horizontal reinforcement rib. A skirt extends along the sidewalls above the base. Drainage openings are defined below the skirt and at an intersectional area defined between the base and at least one of the sidewalls.

COLLAPSIBLE SHELF ASSEMBLY
20200141630 · 2020-05-07 ·

A collapsible shelf assembly having four detachable, slideably mated trays, each tray comprising an L-shaped superiorly-rising sidewall in some embodiments. The collapsible shelf assembly is adapted to collapse (or retract) along two axes to facilitate adjustment of shelf width and depth to optimize volume usage to users needing shelving providing adjustable surface area.

Recyclable insulated stackable tray for cold wet materials

A stackable container includes a solid compostable or recyclable body formed primarily of a plant fiber. The body includes a floor and a plurality of side walls that are coupled to the floor along first common edges. Each side wall is coupled to two adjacent side walls along second common edges to surround an interior space of the container. A top surface of the side walls provides a rim that includes a recess or projection configured to couple the container to a corresponding projection or recess of an overlying container. A bottom surface of the floor includes a recess or projection that is configured to be coupled with a projection or recess of an underlying container.

Collapsible container

A collapsible container includes a base having a base wall with a plurality of support surfaces separated by a longitudinal drainage channel and a plurality of lateral drainage channels intersecting the longitudinal drainage channel. The drainage channels are lower than the support surfaces. The base wall does not include any openings therethrough, so the drainage channels retain fluid leaking from products or packages in the container. The base may further include a plurality of troughs proximate edges of the base. The plurality of troughs are lower than the drainage channels. Walls are pivotably mounted to the base and are pivotable between an upright position and a collapsed position.

Ventilated container for produce
10611548 · 2020-04-07 · ·

A ventilated container for produce includes a bottom, sidewalls extending upwardly from the bottom, and a rim having a flattened top surface. The sidewalls include at least one ventilation opening located proximate the rim of the container thereby permitting the rim of the container to be generally flat and uninterrupted. The location of ventilation opening(s) proximate the rim of the container allows the flow of rising ethylene gas within the container to exit near the top of the container improving ventilation within the container. A plastic film can be applied over the top of the container and is adhered to the container with an adhesive to form a secure and rigid seal between the film and the container. The flattened surface of the rim improves the adherence between a film and the container to enclose and seal the container, aids the rigidity of the container, and lessens the likelihood of the edges of the rim being bent or folded when pressure is exerted to protect produce provided within the container. Moreover, an aperture on the bottom of the container provides drainage of liquid from the container and allow air to flow.

TRAY TABLE TRAYS
20200100609 · 2020-04-02 · ·

Trays for tray tables that prevent liquid spilled on a top surface of the trays from spreading over edges of the trays. A casing having a top surface with at least one aperture through the top surface, a receptacle within the casing positioned below the aperture in the top surface configured to receive an absorbent pad that can be removably positioned in the receptacle below the aperture to be in communication with the top surface of the tray. Spilled liquids can be guided toward the aperture in the top surface and absorbed in the absorbent pad within the casing. The absorbent pad may be a superabsorbent material. The top surface can have a superhydrophobic coating.

SEALING LID AND TOTE COMBINATION
20200102135 · 2020-04-02 ·

A tote assembly has a tote and a lid. The tote has a sealing channel formed in a lip that extends around a perimeter of a tote opening. At least one drain is formed in the lip and is adapted to direct a fluid away from the sealing channel. The lid has a center portion, a collar disposed around the center portion forming a perimeter of the lid, and a sealing rib formed in the collar that extends around the perimeter of the lid. The collar forms an interference fit with the lip of the tote. The sealing rib is configured to be disposed in the sealing channel to form a fluid tight seal. The fluid-tight seal between the tote and lid ensures the contents of the tote remain dry in an otherwise wet environment or conditions.

Flexible packaging with a straining feature

Embodiments of a flexible pouch (1) comprise a pouch body (10), a collapsible perforated folded panel (50), an opening seal (60) disposed between the collapsible perforated folded panel (50) and the second ends (18, 19) of a front wall (12) and a rear wall (14), wherein the opening seal (60) adheres the second end (18) of the front wall (12) to the second end (19) of the rear wall (14) which thereby conceals the collapsible perforated folded panel (50). The release or removal of the opening seal (60) is operable to expose the collapsible perforated folded panel (50) and application of a pull force is operable to outwardly expand the collapsible perforated folded panel (50) to allow draining of liquid or dispensing of dry powder or flakes from the pouch chamber (52).

Basket tote with caddy and removable mini caddy
10538362 · 2020-01-21 · ·

A basket tote having both a caddy and a removable mini caddy is disclosed. The removable mini caddy attaches to the caddy with a series of guide walls and guide wall retainers that allow the removable mini caddy to be cooperatively received by the caddy. The handle of the removable mini caddy nests with the handle of the caddy while they are attached, providing the user with a single handled basket tote that is easy to transport and use while still having the convenience of an extra tote where objects can be temporarily removed and then replaced without the need for transferring the objects from one tote to another. The removable mini caddy may be easily removed and then replaced within the caddy while remaining securely in place during use and transport.
