Metering valve
Metering valve having a valve body (10) containing a metering chamber (20) defined by a chamber insert (40) and a top and a bottom seal. The chamber insert (40) has a cylindrical wall (49) with an upper edge (41) cooperating with the top seal and a lower edge (43) with the bottom seal. A valve shut-off element (30) slides between rest position and dispensing positions. The valve shut-off element is urged towards its rest position by a spring (8) cooperating with the valve body (10) and the valve shut-off element. The lower edge of the chamber insert forms a flange and has a downward axial projection. The bottom seal has an axial opening (225) accepting an axial projection (45) and passing through the axial opening. The rest position of the valve shut-off element is defined by contact between the axial projection and a part of the valve shut-off element.

METERED DOSE INHALER CANISTER WITH IMPROVED SEALING ARRANGEMENT
A metered dose inhaler valve (26) has a reservoir portion (37) for assembly with a canister (14) for receiving a pressurised formulation of medicament and propellant, a metering valve body (96) defining a metering chamber, and a metering valve stem (24) having an outlet (56) and being axially moveable within the body. The stem moves between a first position in which the chamber is in fluid communication with the canister, and a second position in which the chamber is in fluid communication with the valve stem outlet. A metering valve seal is defined by the valve body and includes an opening through which the stem passes to form a dynamic seal between the stem and at least one of the outside atmosphere and the pressurized canister, where the opening is adapted to be stretched wider by the stem passing through it than it would be absent the valve stem.
Pressurised dispensing container
A pressurised dispensing container (10) comprising a container (11) for product to be dispensed, and a valve fixed to the container, wherein the container contains a propellant comprising 1,1-difluoroethane or a derivative thereof and optionally ethanol. The valve comprises a valve stem (15), a valve body (16, 18) and one or more seals (20, 21), the valve stem being slidable within the valve body, the one or more seals co-operating with the valve stem for regulating discharge of a fluid. The valve further comprises a sealing gasket (14) for sealing the valve to the dispensing container. The one or more seals (20, 21) is/are formed from (i) an elastomeric composition, preferably an elastomeric composition comprising an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer. The sealing gasket (14) is formed from (ii) an elastomeric composition comprising an isobutylene polymer or co-polymer thereof.
