The method of the invention comprises the steps of: —preparing a pulp material, comprising the steps of: —providing an amount of biomass with non-wood biomass fibers as a raw material; preparing the biomass fibers; fibrillation of the prepared biomass fibers with an extruder to produce the pulp material with biomass fibers; providing the pulp material to the moulding device; moulding the 3-dimensional food packaging unit; and releasing the 3-dimensional food packaging unit from the mould.
Packaging unit from a moulded pulp material with display openings and method for manufacturing such packaging unit
The present invention relates to a packaging unit (2) from a moulded pulp material, the packaging unit comprising a bottom part (4) with product receiving compartments for holding respective products, and a number of cones that are provided between the compartments, and having at least one bottom display surface, and a cover part (6) that is hingedly connected to the bottom part with a hinge-element (26), and having at least one cover display surface, wherein the packaging unit comprises a lock (28) for locking the bottom and cover parts in a closed position, wherein the bottom front surface and cover display surface comprise a number of display openings (42, 44, 46) that are positioned to display the product in the respective compartment, wherein the display openings in the bottom front surface and cover display surface are aligned, wherein the lock comprises a lock opening (32) and a cam element (30), and wherein the cam element is provided on a flapless front surface of the bottom part.
Packaging unit for products like eggs, and mould and method there for
Packaging units for products like eggs, and a mould and method therefore, are disclosed. According to one embodiment a packaging unit for products like eggs includes a carton made of moulded pulp with a bottom part including compartments for individual products, and a cover part including top, front and rear surfaces, and a label made of paperboard.
EGG CONTAINER AND A METHOD OF REMOVING ONE OR MORE EGGS FROM SAID EGG CONTAINER
An egg container is disclosed which includes a hollow receptacle having a pair of sidewalls connected to a first end wall, to a second end wall, and to a bottom wall. The hollow receptacle has an open top surrounded by a rim. The rim has a pair of folded flanges formed thereon, each of which extends along at least a portion of the length of each of the pair of sidewalls. The hollow receptacle is capable of holding multiple eggs in a stationary and spaced apart fashion. The egg container further includes a lid sized and shaped to slide between the pair of folded flanges and completely cover the open top of the hollow receptacle. A method of removing one or more eggs from the egg container is also taught.
Container trim configuration
To guard against injury to persons engaging the trim edges of a hinged container, a protective flap extends from the lid on either end of the axial hinge. The flaps extend from the corners of the lid adjacent respective trim edges of the hinge. The flaps have a rounded bottom portion which is extended past the axial hinge line. The curved structure of the protective flaps helps to gently deflect objects, such as fingers, away from any sharply angled trim edges of the hinge, thereby guarding handlers from accidental injury.
METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURING A 3-DIMINESIONAL SHAPED PRODUCT FROM A FLUFF PULP MATERIAL AND SUCH PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a 3-dimensional shaped product from a fluff pulp material and such product. The method according to the invention comprises the steps of: providing a fluff pulp material; providing an air-laid flow of fluff pulp material to a 3-dimensional shaped mould; forming the product in the mould; and releasing the 3-dimensional shaped product from the mould.
EGG CARTON WITH COLLAPSIBLE BUBBLES
A plastic egg carton that enables secure packaging of different size eggs, preferably in both oriented and non-oriented positions, while also allowing for easy filling, closing, handling and packing in shipping containers. The egg carton has a base tray and a lid hingedly connected to the tray for pivoting between open and closed positions. Each cell of the base tray has a plurality of collapsible bubbles formed in the cell sidewall, the bubbles extending radially inwardly in a relaxed state (when no egg or an egg up to a predetermined size (diameter) is present in the cell) and configured to move (compress) outwardly when eggs of increasing size (diameter) above the predetermined size are placed in the cell, thereby accommodating a range of different size variations, and holding each received egg in a vertically aligned position in its cell. The lid post also has a plurality of collapsible bubbles. The bubbles in the cell sidewalls and lid posts collectively hold each egg, within a predefined range of egg sizes, vertically upright in the cell pocket, resisting movement in the horizontal (lateral) direction, and cushioning the egg at its point of maximum girth (maximum width) from compressive forces (lateral impacts).
Packaging unit from a moulded pulp material with elevated lock and method for manufacturing such packaging unit
A packaging unit from a moulded pulp material and a manufacturing method therefor. The packaging unit comprises a bottom part with product receiving compartments and a number of cones that are provided between the compartments, a cover part a hinge configured for hingedly connecting the bottom part with the cover part, and a lock configured for locking the cover part to the bottom part, with the lock comprising a one or more locking openings and one or more corresponding locking cams. The bottom part comprises a support member that is configured for engaging the cover part and wherein the one or more locking openings comprise and/or are circumvented by a backwards curved upper edge that is at least partially positioned in the transition region.
Egg carton and formation apparatus and method
An egg carton and method and apparatus for forming an egg carton. A main body of the egg carton may be made of a single sheet of material and folded or otherwise bent to form the majority of the carton's interior space. Partition walls may be engaged with slots formed in the main body to define separate storage areas of the interior space as well as help hold the main body in the desired configuration. Hooks on the sides of the partition walls may engage with openings in the main body to secure the main body to the partition walls.
EGG CARTON WITH LUGLESS DENEST-FEATURE AND RELATED METHODS
An egg carton may include a lid having first and second opposing longitudinal sides, first and second opposing ends, a major surface, and first and second denest-features respectively near the first and second opposing ends. Each denest-feature may have an upper wall extending from the major surface, an outward flange being parallel to the major surface, and a curved surface extending from the upper wall to the outward flange. The egg carton may include a base having first and second opposing longitudinal sides, first and second opposing ends, and lower egg receptacles for receiving corresponding eggs, and a hinge strip coupled between the lid and the base and configured to permit the lid to fold between a closed position and an open position.
