An insert construction or formation is attachable to a basic lid construction for outfitting a hot beverage or liquid container assembly for enabling a user to enhance heat transfer from a relatively hot assembly-contained beverage or liquid prior to consumption. The insert construction or formation provides a damming structure located in adjacency to the primary liquid outlet of the basic lid construction for selectively transferring liquid intermediate a liquid-containing compartment and at least one beverage-cooling channel made part of the damming structure. Each beverage-cooling channel or formation directs liquid therethrough and transfers heat therefrom before the liquid exits the primary liquid outlet. The primary dam structure or insert construction thereby enables the user to redirect liquid movement via the basic lid construction for delaying liquid delivery via the primary beverage outlet and transferring heat therefrom prior to liquid consumption. Certain packaging methodology of the complex lid construction is further contemplated.

The cover collar includes at least one bead encircling the cover collar in the circumferential direction, and when viewed in the elevation direction the bead is disposed at a constant distance from the cover plate.

A stackable tote and lid combination has a lid with a main body and a rim. The rim has a wall with corner bodies, where the wall is spaced apart from a major surface. Each corner body has an upper surface with three outer side surfaces. Each first outer side surface is attached to a respective second outer side surface and each second outer side surface is attached to a respective third outer side surface. Each first, second, and third outer side surface is positioned between and connected to the upper surface of the respective corner body and the major surface of the main body. As a result, each first, second, and third outer side surface of respective corner bodies is configured to abut a hollow body of the stackable tote at three respective internal contact areas, and to removably hold the stackable tote.

A container body has a neck defining an opening with an axis. The neck includes a projection that projects radially away from the axis. A cap includes a wall that defines at least part of an exterior of the cap. The wall includes an aperture extending therethrough. The cap is removably attached to the neck and supported for movement on the neck between a first position and a second position. The wall is resiliently flexible for radial movement between a retained position and an unretained position with respect to the neck. In the retained position the projection retains the cap in the first position. The wall, in the unretained position, allows movement of the cap from the first position toward the second position.

In at least one embodiment, the disclosed containers and container lids provide a liquid-tight seal without the use of gaskets, and can facilitate full submersion of solid items when the container is filled with liquid. For example, in certain embodiments, a container lid includes a brine disc panel with alternating hatched patterns of downward protruding ridges. Thus, in these embodiments, liquids within the container can pass between the protruding ridges (e.g., with the protruding ridges extending downwardly into the liquid) and the protruding ridges may keep solids that tend to float in the liquid below a surface of the liquid.
