A fitment for a package for preparing a beverage connectable to a machine for supplying sanitized liquid to the package is disclosed. The fitment includes a sealing portion and a housing and a fluid connector for fluidly connecting to the machine and to supply liquid inside the container. Also disclosed are packages containing same and methods of producing and using same.

A spout includes a mounting portion to which a pouch of a container assembly is sealed. The exterior of the mounting portion is defined by a smooth, non-angled surface free of edges or sharp transition portions, and is defined along its height by a generally sinusoidal, wave-like pattern formed by alternating peaks and troughs. The exterior of the mounting portion is structured such that the ratio of the length of the portion of the mounting portion exterior surface extending between adjacent peaks to the height between adjacent peaks is minimized to no more than 10%, and more preferably no more than 5%. By minimizing this ratio, the amount that a pouch will stretch if it is pushed into the cavities formed between adjacent peaks of the mounting portion (e.g. during an HPP process) is minimized, thereby preventing damage to the pouch and/or attachment between the pouch and spout.

A pouch or package (e.g., flexible package) having a containment compartment or chamber to securely seal and to segregate fine powders or other such products from another area of the package. A powder resistant sealable filter material is included between, or extending between edges of, opposing package panels. Water, or other liquids, can be added to the product through the material as this material allows liquid to pass through it to mix with the powder, but restricts passage of the powder back through.

The invention relates to a valve fitment (6; 60) for a collapsible fluid dispensing package for dispensing fluid by relative pressure present in the package; the valve fitment comprising:at least a compressible wedge-like spout (9; 9, 9);a sealing base (10) arranged for sealing engagement with the container at a seal edge (5); wherein the wedge-like spout (9; 9, 9) is located within a passage (11; 11, 11) formed through the sealing base (10) and, wherein sealing base is preferably of higher rigidity than the wedge-like spout (9; 9, 9). The invention also relates to a fluid dispensing package (1) comprising the valve fitment (6; 60).

To provide a spout-equipped container that is excellent in hermetical-sealing performance. The spout-equipped container includes a container and a spout. The spout includes a spout main body, an opening body accommodated in a cylinder of the spout main body, an activating body which moves the opening body, and a hermetically-sealing sheet which covers an inner opening which fronts an accommodating unit in the spout main body. The opening body is formed so as not to be get out of the spout main body, is formed so as to move toward the hermetically-sealing sheet, and has its center where a spout through hole is formed. The hermetically-sealing sheet is formed so as to be partially torn by the opening body to make the accommodating unit of the container and an outer opening of the spout main body communicate with outside via the spout through hole of the opening body, and is formed so that an accommodated substance is poured outside.

A method for making said flexible includes forming a flexible pouch having an open top. A dividing seal extends from the open top to the bottom of the pouch so as to define two pouch openings and two pouch spaces. Substances are introduced into the pouch spaces by a first nozzle and a second nozzle inserted into a respective first space and second space and filling the pouch body through the first and second nozzle.

A beverage preparation capsule containing a beverage preparation ingredient, having a body with side walls formed from one or more substantially air- and liquid-impermeable sheet materials defining a chamber containing a beverage preparation ingredient and further defining an outlet channel having an upstream end in fluid communication with the chamber for escape of beverage from the chamber. At least a region of the outlet channel is filled by a filtration material for filtering the beverage escaping from the chamber. Also provided is a clamp assembly for preparing a beverage from such a capsule, the clamp assembly comprising two or more clamp members, wherein an inner wall of at least one of the clamp members comprises a concave base surface for receiving the capsule and one or more pressure pads projecting from the concave base surface for selectively constricting a region of the capsule. Also provided are a beverage preparation apparatus and system comprising the clamp assembly, and a method of preparing a beverage from the apparatus.

A beverage preparation capsule containing a beverage preparation ingredient, having a body with side walls formed from one or more substantially air- and liquid-impermeable sheet materials defining a chamber containing a beverage preparation ingredient and further defining an outlet channel having an upstream end in fluid communication with the chamber for escape of beverage from the chamber. The present disclosure provides semirigid pouch designs and methods of manufacturing pouches. Such pouches can be made of plastic or non-plastic materials and may be easily sorted and recycled within existing rigid packaging recycling streams. The pouches are semirigid, while flexible, and will substantially retain their shape during and following product dispensing. This is accomplished by sealing a lower edge of a wall of semirigid plastic or non-plastic materials to a rigid or semirigid base, enabling the pouch to stand up on the base. Portions of an upper edge of the wall are affixed together to form a space to hold the foodstuffs. Further, the present pouch design does not require an additional label to be applied by the manufacturer, as the present design provides a large, uninterrupted, surface area for printing of advertisements and/or labels directly to the outer surface of the pouch.

The present disclosure provides a fitment. In an embodiment, a fitment is provided and includes a top portion, a base, and a channel extending through the top portion and the base for passage of a flowable material. The fitment includes a flexible valve extending across the channel. The flexible valve includes a slit which opens to permit flow therethrough. The flexible valve includes an ethylene/-olefin multi-block copolymer.
