ARTICULATED FRONT LOADER ARM MECHANISM FOR USE WITH A CONVENTIONAL REFUSE COLLECTION EXTENDED CAB CHASSIS
20170362030 · 2017-12-21 · ·

An articulated front loader arm structure is provided for use with a conventional refuse collection vehicle having a conventional cab chassis. The articulated arm structure is controlled by a programmed logic controller (PLC) which for monitors and controls the movement of the front loader articulated arm structure. The PLC communicates with various cylinders and sensors to control the extension/retraction of the various cylinders associated with the various arm sections of the front loader arm structure during movement through both its container dump cycle and its container return cycle. The articulated arm structure allows the present front loader arm mechanism to both extend over a conventional cab chassis as well as to be stored on top of the refuse vehicle under the current legal height restriction of 13 feet, 6 inches.

Grabber For A Front Loader Refuse Vehicle

A grabber assembly has a beam assembly with a bracket. A grabber gear assembly is coupled with the bracket. The grabber gear assembly has a pair of gear mechanisms coupled with the bracket. Each gear mechanism has a shaft and a pair of thrust bearings, one at each end of the shaft. A grabber arm mounting pad is coupled with each shaft. A gear section is coupled with each shaft. The gear sections of each shaft mesh with one another to drive the grabber arm mounting pads. An actuating driver is coupled with one of the shafts to drive the grabber gear assembly and move the arms between an open and grasping position.

INTERMEDIATE CONTAINER FOR INTEGRATION WITH A REFUSE VEHICLE

An intermediate container for a refuse vehicle where the container is positioned in front of the refuse vehicle is provided. A plurality of legs extends from the container toward the refuse vehicle. An attachment mechanism is on each leg to secure the legs to a front loading arm assembly of the refuse vehicle.

Lifting arm assembly for automated side loader used on refuse collection vehicle

A lifting arm assembly is movable between a grabbing position and tipping position and includes a static frame provided with a roller arrangement. A dynamic frame is mounted for vertical movement relative to the static frame. A grabber structure is provided with a pair of grabber arms configured for movement between a closed position and an open position. A linkage arrangement has a first end pivotally connected to the dynamic frame, and a second end pivotally attached to the grabber structure. The first end includes a set of teeth arranged in meshing engagement with the roller arrangement on the static frame. Movement of the dynamic frame relative to the static frame causes pivoting of the linkage arrangement resulting in lifting movement of the grabber structure along a curvilinear path between the grabbing position and the tipping position.

Ejector for refuse vehicle

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis and a body assembly. The body assembly includes a series of panels configured to contain a volume of refuse therein and an ejector. The panels define a hopper volume and a storage volume. The ejector is configured to fully eject refuse from the storage volume. The ejector includes a wall at least partially defining an opening and a coupling pivotally and fixedly coupling a panel to the wall. The wall is movable within the storage volume. The panel is repositionable relative to the wall between a closed position and an open position. The panel extends at least partially across the opening when in the closed position and is angularly offset relative to the closed position when in the open position.

REFUSE COLLECTION TRUCK HAVING A LOW PROFILE LOADER

A side loading refuse collection truck has a collection bin storing refuse placed in the refuse collection truck. A tailgate is coupled to the collection bin. A collection hopper is coupled to the collection bin, wherein the collection hopper is recessed within a body of the refuse collection truck. A side loader coupled to the collection hopper, wherein a distal end of the side loader when the collection hopper is in a stowed positon lies within a body outline of a perimeter of a body of the refuse collection truck.

Front lift assembly for electric refuse vehicle

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis and defining a refuse compartment, an electric energy system, and a lift assembly. The lift assembly includes a pair of lift arms pivotally coupled to the body assembly, a pair of forks pivotally coupled to the pair of lift arms, a lift arm actuator positioned to facilitate pivoting the pair of lift arms relative to the body assembly, and a fork actuator extending between the pair of lift arms and the pair of forks. The fork actuator is positioned to facilitate pivoting the pair of forks relative to the pair of lift arms. The lift arm actuator and the fork actuator are powered by the electric energy system.

WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IMPLEMENTING REMOTE AUDITING

A system is disclosed for auditing waste retrieved by a service vehicle. The system may have an optical sensor mountable onboard the service vehicle and configured to capture image data associated with the waste as the waste falls into the service vehicle during completion of a waste service activity. The system may also have at least one controller in communication with the optical sensor and being configured to generate at least one of an alert and a recommendation regarding a mix of the waste based on the image data.

Versatile collection apparatus for front loading refuse vehicle

A refuse collection assembly for a refuse collection vehicle mounts to a intermediate container on the refuse collection vehicle. The refuse receptacle collection assembly can grasp a refuse receptacle at curbside, at street side, or forward of the intermediate container in any location over a one hundred eighty degree arc. The collection assembly grasps the receptacle and locates it above the intermediate container and tilts it sufficiently to empty the contents of the receptacle in the intermediate container. The collection assembly then returns the receptacle upright to its previous location or to any location to the right, left or forward of the refuse collection assembly. The refuse receptacle collection assembly includes a rail extending along a wall of the intermediate container, a carriage selectively movable along the rail, and a receptacle engaging assembly supported by the carriage for grasping the refuse receptacle.
