The moving member is positioned in a first position when the bail arm is in the first posture, moving member positioned in a second position behind the first position when the bail arm is in the second posture, and is rotatable together with the rotor. The abutting member is attached to the housing and abuts the moving member in the second position to move the moving member toward the first position. The returning device returns the bail arm to the first posture from the second posture when the moving member moves toward the first position from the second position.

A spinning reel includes a reel body, a handle, a spool shaft, a spool, a rotor, a reciprocating mechanism, and a clutch mechanism. The handle is rotatably disposed on the reel body. The spool shaft is supported by the reel body. The spool moves in an axial direction of the spool shaft together with the spool shaft. The rotor rotates about the spool by rotation of the handle and winds a fishing line around the spool. The reciprocating mechanism moves the spool shaft back and forth in the axial direction when the rotation of the handle is transmitted thereto. The clutch mechanism switches between a transmitting state to transmit the rotation of the handle to the reciprocating mechanism and a non-transmitting state to terminate the transmission. The reciprocating mechanism enables the spool shaft to move in the axial direction when the clutch mechanism is in the non-transmitting state.

The first regulating part regulates relative movement of the fixing ring with respect to the spool body and is detachably attached to the tubular connecting portion.

A roller clutch includes an outer ring, an inner ring, a rollers, a torsion spring, and a housing member. The roller is disposed between the inner ring and the outer ring. The roller i configured to move between a transmitting position and a non-transmitting position. The spring biases the roller to the transmitting position. The housing member has a housing hole and an inner wall surface. The housing hole houses the torsion spring. The inner wall surface defines the housing hole and is configured to support the torsion spring.

A fishing reel according to one embodiment comprises a throwing start detection unit that detects a throwing start, a throwing end detection unit that detects a throwing end, a handle rotation detection unit that detects a rotation speed of a handle of the fishing reel, and a line length calculation unit that calculates a line length of a released fishing line, in which the line length calculation unit calculates the line length of the fishing line on the basis of a rotation speed of the handle by the handle rotation detection unit from the throwing start to throwing end.

The rotor is rotatable relative to the reel body about an axis of rotation and has an internal space. The one-way clutch is configured to transmit power in only one direction.
