A system for monitoring conveyor belts is disclosed. The system includes a generator array, a sensor array and circuitry. The generator array is configured to apply a magnetic field to a plurality of belt subsegments of a segment of a conveyor belt. The sensor array is configured to measure a plurality of magnetic responses for the plurality of belt subsegments. The circuitry is configured to determine whether at least a portion of the segment requires replacement based on the measured plurality of magnetic responses.

A method and system of fault prediction in a packaging machine is disclosed. The method comprises registering data values associated with the motion of independently movable objects along a track in the packaging machine; determining a distribution of the data values; calculating a measure of central tendency of the data values in the distribution; calculating a quantified measure of a shape of the distribution; associating the measure of central tendency with said quantified measure of the shape as a coupled set of condition parameters; determining a degree of dispersion of a plurality of coupled sets of condition parameters associated with a plurality of motion cycles of the independently movable objects; and comparing the degree of dispersion with a dispersion threshold value, or determining a trend of the degree of dispersion over time, for said fault prediction.

A control system, a method, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are provided for a control system of a transport system. A processor is configured to receive sensor data from a monitoring device attached to, or configured to simulate, a container that is typically moved, routed, or handled by the transport system. The processor receives a maintenance indicator identifying a malfunctioning component of the transport system. The processor obtains a predetermined normal range of the sensor data corresponding to expected operating conditions for each of one or more sensors of the monitoring device. The predetermined normal range corresponding to the expected operating conditions is modified based on the maintenance indicator and subsequent malfunctioning components are detected based on the modified normal range of the sensor data.
CONVEYOR CONTROLLER WITH ANALYTICS SYSTEM
A data analytics system has been developed for conveyor systems that helps to monitor items along conveyors as well as assist in monitoring the status or health of equipment of the conveyor. Tracking items in conveying systems within a facility can be difficult. Conveyed items can become jammed, lost, or even fall off the conveyor. Based on input from motors and sensors along the conveyor, the data analytics system is able to detect lost or jammed items. With input from the sensors, the data analytics system is also configured to detect equipment wear and damage. The data analytic system further aggregates data from the various conveyor systems to generate statistics as well as other information that can be used for modeling and simulating the conveyor system. The aggregate data can be used to generate measures such as travel efficiency analytics for reporting purposes.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONDITION MONITORING DURING THE OPERATION OF A CONVEYOR SYSTEM
A system and a method for condition monitoring during the operation of a conveyor system, in particular an airport baggage conveyor system, includes conveyor units and a background system. A conveyor unit includes an individual conveyor line and/or a group of conveyor lines. It is possible to record an individual current characteristic of an individual conveyor unit. Each individual conveyor unit has a defined current characteristic during fault-free operation and the background system is configured to record the defined current characteristic and the actual current characteristic of the conveyor unit. The background system is configured to analyze the actual current characteristic of the conveyor unit and to signal, on the basis of the analysis, an impending wear and/or a malfunction of the conveyor system, in particular of a conveyor line of the conveyor unit.
