TRANSPORTATION ROBOT CONTROL SYSTEM FOR WAREHOUSE SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD

An object is to provide a transportation robot control system for a warehouse system and a control method that can stably control a large number of robots by wireless communication.

A transportation robot control system 3 controls transportation robots 30 in a warehouse system 1. The transportation robot control system 3 includes: a central wireless communication unit 200 configured to be able to wirelessly communicate with the transportation robots 30 in a specific region of the warehouse system 1; an individual wireless communication unit 210 configured to be able to wirelessly communicate with the transportation robots 30; and individual control units 220 that respectively control the movements of the transportation robots 30. The individual wireless communication unit 210 includes information reading units 211 that are respectively provided in the transportation robots 30 and a plurality of information holding units 212 that are arranged in a rack 2. Each of the information holding units 212 holds position information indicating a position in the rack 2, at the position, the information holding unit 212 is arranged.

There is provided an automated storage and retrieval system including: a rack storing a plurality of bins for containing items; a picking station for picking the item from the bin; and a transportation robot for transporting the bin between the rack and the picking station. The picking station defines a plurality of picking positions at which a plurality of the transportation robots transporting the bins are simultaneously aligned to enable picking work of the item from the bin.

MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS FOR USE IN SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING OBJECTS INCLUDING MOBILE MATRIX CARRIER SYSTEMS

A maintenance system is disclosed for assisting in maintaining an automated carrier system for moving objects to be processed. The maintenance system includes a plurality of automated carriers that are adapted to move on an array of discontinuous standard track sections, each said automated carrier including a carrier body that is no larger in either a length or width direction that a standard track section, and an automated maintenance carrier that is adapted to move on the array of discontinuous track sections, said automated maintenance system including a maintenance body that is larger in at least one of a length or width direction than the standard track section.

Systems, methods, and computer program products for improved container transportation

Methods, apparatuses, devices, and computer program products are disclosed for container transportation. An example system includes a conveyor network that includes a plurality of conveyors and each conveyor supports one or more containers thereon. Each conveyor defines a conveyor length and a conveyor operating speed. The system further includes a computing device operably coupled to the conveyor network. The computing device receives a starting location and a destination location of a first container within the conveyor network and receives an operating density for each conveyor in the conveyor network. The computing device determines a first travel path for the first container between the starting location and the destination location based upon the conveyor length, the conveyor operating speed, and the operating density for each conveyor in the conveyor network. The first travel path minimizes a total travel time for the first container between the starting location and the destination location.

Switch device

The present disclosure relates to a switch device for a transfer point between a first and a second rotatable star wheel, at which transfer point objects can be transferred selectively from the first star wheel to the second star wheel. The switch device includes a base in the region of the transfer point for supporting the objects transported by the star wheels; a first and a second wall portion that extend in the region of the transfer point; a drive mechanism for driving the movement of the wall portions; and a control means for actuating the drive mechanism. The first and the second wall portions are individually vertically movable by the at least one drive mechanism.

MOVEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING OBJECTS INCLUDING MOBILE MATRIX CARRIER SYSTEMS

An object processing system is disclosed that includes a plurality of track sections, and a plurality of remotely actuatable carriers for controlled movement along at least portions of the plurality of track sections, each of the actuatable carriers being instructed at any time to move a limited number of track section only.

MOBILE CARRIERS FOR USE IN SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING OBJECTS INCLUDING MOBILE MATRIX CARRIER SYSTEMS

An automated carrier system is disclosed for moving objects to be processed. The automated carrier system includes a base structure of a carrier on which an object may be supported, and at least two wheels mounted to at least two motors to provide at least two wheel assemblies, the at least two wheel assemblies being pivotally supported on the base structure for pivoting movement from a first position to a second position to effect a change in direction of movement of the carrier.
