A clip for attaching a fishing line to a kite line. The clip mounts on the housing for loosely supporting the fishing line. The clip includes a pair of top rollers and a bottom roller aligned in parallel during operation. The rollers rotate freely to prevent twisting of the kite line. The rollers do cooperate to hold the kite line and prevent axial motion between the kite line and the rollers of the clip. The clip is moveable between a locked configuration where the clip is secured axially to the fishing line and is capable of holding the fishing line, to an unlocked configuration that releases the fishing line. When bait at one end of the fishing line is hit or tugged, the clip releases both the fishing line and the kite line to enable the clip to slid down the kite line away from the kite and fishing line.

A crimp sleeve for joining a loop of a fishing leader is disclosed. The crimp sleeve consists of an outer compressible and permanently deformable layer which is hard and resistant, and an inner softer layer, which conforms to the leader upon application. The multi-layered structure of the crimp sleeve allows for secure fixation without the risk of breakage or slippage of the connection. The main application of the crimp sleeve is primarily for fishing leaders having a looped end, but can be applied to other areas where two or more sections of wire or line need to be secured to each other by crimping.

A crimp sleeve for joining a loop of a fishing leader is disclosed. A fishing line braided knotting device for attaching one fishing line to another includes a base to which a pair of posts is attached, with each post extending perpendicularly from the base proximate to one of its opposed ends. The post comprises lower and upper portions, with the latter being circumferentially smaller than the former. A pair of fasteners is attached singly to the posts. A first fishing line can be looped around the upper portions so that two loop sections of the first fishing line extend substantially in parallel between the posts. One of the fasteners attaches to the first fishing line and a first line tag to secure them in position. A second one of the fasteners selectively attaches to a second fishing line leaving a second line tag available to be positioned around the two loop sections to knot the fishing lines together.

Apparatus for cutting a fishing line, said apparatus including a hollow shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween; a slot formed in said hollow shaft and communicating with said lumen; and a cutter shaft movably disposed within said lumen so as to selectively cross said slot, whereby to cut a fishing line disposed in said slot.

Apparatus for cutting a fishing line, said apparatus including a hollow shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween; a slot formed in said hollow shaft and communicating with said lumen; and a cutter shaft movably disposed within said lumen so as to selectively cross said slot, whereby to cut a fishing line disposed in said slot.

A line knot tying apparatus and method of use is disclosed that assists in joining first and second line free end portions. The knot tying apparatus includes a housing with an aperture therethrough that is slidably engaged to an extension element wherein an element biases the extension to a closed state that can be manually pushed into an open state. Also a helical coil with continuously increasing pitch line distance is attached to the housing. Operationally the first and second line free end portions each have a manual removable slidable engagement to the helical coil with opposing free ends that are wound in a plurality of loops about the opposing line then being secured by the extension element in the closed state. Then manually pulling the non free end line portions apart from one another to form the knot, further releasing the opposing line free ends from the extension element.

A line knot tying apparatus and method of use is disclosed that assists in joining first and second line free end portions. A method and assembly for knotting a line restrains a fishing line in a loose knot pattern while a knot or splice is formed in the fishing line to enable tightening the knot by stretching the line. The assembly includes a pair of cylinders having an external surface, a first end, and a second end. A pair of tubes encapsulate the pair of cylinders to provide a slip resistant surface. Two pair of caps comprising an open end and a closed end detachably attach to the first and second ends of the tubes. The caps include at least one flat surface region having a depression. One cap per tube includes a light emitting diode (LED) which enables hands free illumination while knotting or splicing line. Magnets are integrated into the cap depressions to enable magnetic attraction between tubes. Fishing line wrap around the tubes to enable knotting and splicing.
