Disclosed is a film feeding apparatus including a turntable including a driving member and a rotation bar having a central part shaft-coupled to a rotating shaft of the driving member to be driven to rotate around the rotating shaft and driven to rotate to repeatedly perform an operation in which the rotation bar rotates by a predetermined reference angle through the driving member and is then stopped for a predetermined reference time, a film tray that is installed in a predetermined first operation region to position one of opposite ends of the rotation bar on the film tray in a state in which the rotation bar is stopped for the reference time and on which a plurality of films are located in multiple layers, gripping units coupled to the opposite ends of the rotation bar, respectively, to transfer the films along a predetermined circular trajectory around the rotating shaft by the rotation bar and provided to grip the films, and a film ejection unit that is installed in a predetermined second operation region to position a remaining end opposite to the one end of the opposite ends of the rotation bar in the film ejection unit in the state in which the rotation bar is stopped for the reference time and provided to eject the films to an outside, wherein, in the state in which the rotation bar is stopped for the reference time, a griping unit positioned in the first operation region among the gripping units grips a film from the film tray, and a gripping unit positioned in the second operation region among the gripping units releases a film that is pre-gripped from the film tray and transfers the film to the film ejection unit.

SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR SORTING VENEER SHEETS

The invention relates to a system for sorting veneer sheets. The system comprises: an assembly section; a reject section; a feeding section arranged between the assembly section and the reject section; at least one detection device configured to scan a top surface of a topmost veneer sheet of a stack of veneer sheets to provide a plurality of successive scan lines images; at least two parallel transfer devices; and a control system. The control system is configured to provide a surface scan image from the plurality of successive scan lines images, determine one or more properties of the veneer sheet based on the surface scan image, and to control the at least two transfer devices to: move from an avoidance position to a pick-up position determined based on the surface scan image; pick up the topmost veneer sheet of the stack of veneer sheets; and transfer the picked-up veneer sheet to the assembly section in response to detecting that each of the determined one or more properties of the veneer sheet meets a respective predetermined criterion, or otherwise transfer the picked-up veneer sheet to the reject section. The invention relates also to a method for sorting veneer sheets.

An isolation system can facilitate accurate isolation of a sheet by (i) providing targeted air flow, and/or (ii) introducing a wave into the sheet. Identification systems and/or isolation systems described herein may facilitate isolation of sheets that were previously fastened together by one or more fasteners. An alignment system can facilitate accurate alignment of a first sheet at an upstream location relative to a second sheet at a downstream location via machine learning.

The vacuum lifter apparatus comprises: a substantially horizontal suction plate comprising a perforated suction lifting surface, said surface being downwardly oriented for making contact with an upper surface of said articles to be lifted, an airflow suction system for conveying vacuum air pressure to said perforated suction lifting surface; and at least one mount for connection of the suction plate to at least one actuator of the lifter actuation system for lifting and/or moving the suction plate during use. There is at least one suction lifter proximate an edge of the suction plate, said suction lifter comprising a downwardly oriented suction cup, said cup being movably mounted in a substantially vertical direction relative to the suction plate and being connected to a source of air pressure for providing air suction to said cup for plucking upwards a local area of said of articles to be lifted. A suction cup actuation system is configured to drive said movement of the suction cup between a raised orientation in which the suction cup is raised relative to a level of said suction lifting surface and a lowered orientation in which the suction cup is substantially at or below the level of said suction lifting surface whereby, in use, said air suction is directed substantially downwardly towards a sheet material article to be lifted when said suction cup is in the lowered orientation. The control system is operable to control the operation of the lifter actuation system and the operation of the suction cup actuation system to initially pluck said local area of said article to be lifted prior to applying said vacuum air pressure to said perforated suction lifting surface to lift the remainder of said article.
