The re-reeling assemblies each include a reel mount supporting a first reel and a re-reel mount supporting a second reel. The re-reeling assemblies operated to unwind a product strip from the first reel and rewind the product strip on the second reel. The reel handling machine includes a reel manipulator positioned proximate to the re-reeling assemblies configured to automatically remove the second reel from the re-reel mount after the product strip is rewound on the second reel and move the second reel to a remote location.

A tape affixing apparatus includes a frame support table for supporting an annular frame, a lifting and lowering unit for lifting and lowering the frame support table, a tape affixing unit, and a controller. The tape affixing unit includes a tape uncoiler, a tape take-up reel, and a presser roller movable from one end to the other end of the annular frame supported on the frame support table while pressing a tape paid out from the tape uncoiler to affix the tape to the annular frame. The controller positions the presser roller in a pressing position, affixes the tape to one end of the annular frame while applying tension to the tape, moves the presser roller toward the other end of the annular frame, and keeps the tension on the tape constant by lifting the frame support table in synchronism with the presser roller as it is moved.

The web processing apparatus allows for accurately controlling tension of the first and second webs simultaneously and independently of one another in a tandem mode, while maintaining the possibility for controlling tension of a single web in a single mode.

Winding assembly

A winding assembly includes a first supporting member, a pivot shaft, a driving assembly, and a limiting member. The pivot shaft is partly received in the first supporting member. The pivot shaft is configured to support the adhesive tape coil thereon. The adhesive tape coil is configured to be rotatable relative to the first supporting member. The driving assembly includes a secondary shaft. The secondary shaft is partly received in the first supporting member and capable of moving relative to the first supporting member. A first end of the secondary shaft is exterior to the first supporting member and is configured to couple to the hollow rod. The limiting member is spaced a preset distance from the first supporting member and capable of moving relative to the first supporting member. The limiting member and the first supporting member are configured to cooperatively limit the wound adhesive tape.

A method of manufacturing a glass roll, includes: a forming step (S1) of forming, while conveying a glass film, the glass film by a downdraw method; a temporary rolling step (S3) of rolling the glass film while superposing a protective film on the glass film at a downstream end of a path of the conveying in the forming step (S1), to thereby manufacture a source glass roll; and a main rolling step (S4) of unrolling, while conveying the glass film to a downstream side, the glass film from the source glass roll, and then rerolling the glass film while superposing a protective film on the glass film at a downstream end of a path of the conveying, to thereby manufacture a glass roll. Higher tension in a rolling direction is applied to the glass film in the main rolling step (S4) than in the temporary rolling step (S3).
