A rotary frame construction for web transport control devices, includes a carrier frame and a rotary frame in parallel therewith and carrying input and output rollers for a web and pivotably mounted on the carrier frame about a rotation center defined by control surfaces of one frame, the control surfaces scanned by cam followers on the other frame, the frames held in parallel alignment by support rollers on one frame and run surfaces on the other frame, the frames pivotally connected with one another by a drive system, the control surfaces constituted by three control curves formed at outer edges of a cam plate rigidly held on one frame, two of the control curves located on one side of the cam plate and the third on the opposite side of the cam plate, and the other frame has three cam followers respectively associated with one of the control curves.
Method and apparatus for guiding a web to a centration point
The present invention relates to a method of guiding a web with a shifting path of the web to a substantially constant centration point. It comprises the steps of providing a web with a shifting path of the web from a source of the web, measuring upstream of said centration point, the position and/or orientation of said web by a sensor arrangement, and guiding said web to said centration point in accordance to the measurement results. The present invention advantageously relates to operations in the manufacturing of absorbent articles such as unwinding web rolls that are wound in a shifted manner, in particular spirally wound web rolls, and removing web from containers of loose web material. The invention also relates to a device for the execution of the method.

The sensor (30) measures transverse placement of the web (2) relative to the target location and transmits an input signal to the controller (70) when transverse placement of the web (2) differs from the target location. The controller (70) provides an output signal to the actuator (20 to move the turnbar (10) along the axis of movement (29) such that the web (2) maintains substantial alignment with the target location.

A printer is provided with: a feed roller on which an elongated shaped medium is wound in a roll form and from which the medium is unwound and fed in a predetermined transport direction; a printing unit that prints an object to be printed on the medium fed from the feed roller; a take-up roller that takes up the medium printed by the printing unit in a roll form; and a tension applying member that applies a tension to the medium by making a contact with a surface opposite to a print surface of the medium. The tension applying member has a support portion disposed at a center position in a width direction of the medium, and an oscillation shaft extending in the width direction of the medium and adapted to oscillate in contact with the medium. The oscillation shaft is oscillated on the support portion serving as fulcrum.

Web shift compensation
According to examples, an apparatus may include a first feed element and a second feed element, in which a web is to be fed to the first feed element and from the first feed element to the second feed element. The apparatus may also include a controller that may determine whether the web exiting the second feed element is shifted from an intended position and based on a determination that the web is shifted from the intended position, cause the first feed element to be moved laterally a first distance and the second feed element to be moved laterally a second distance to compensate for the shift in the web exiting the second feed element.
Web shift compensation
According to examples, an apparatus may include a first feed element and a second feed element, in which a web is to be fed to the first feed element and from the first feed element to the second feed element. The apparatus may also include a controller that may determine whether the web exiting the second feed element is shifted from an intended position and based on a determination that the web is shifted from the intended position, cause the first feed element to be moved laterally a first distance and the second feed element to be moved laterally a second distance to compensate for the shift in the web exiting the second feed element.
