The machine further comprises a cutting device (11; 104) with a plurality of blades (13; 105), arranged upstream of the winding station (3; 101) with respect to the feeding direction of the web material (N) and adapted to slit the web material into a plurality of strips (S1-S5) of web material. An in-line measurement arrangement (81-87) is also provided for measuring the Poisson's ratio of the web material (N).
Device for introducing a pattern by radiation on a wound endless structure
A device for introducing patterns by radiating a wound continuous substrate. The device provides patterning during continuous roll-to-roll movement without material slippage and with minimal distortion by providing a dancer roll between a processing drum and an unwinder roll on one side, and a winder roll on the other side, for tautly guiding the continuous substrate along a contact surface of at least half of the circumference of the processing drum in order to drive the continuous substrate without slippage. The dancer rolls are adapted to tautly guide the advancing substrate web and returning substrate web with a constant force, and an equilibrium is adjustable between a defined counterforce and the constant action of force on the dancer roll by a stabilization device, and is maintained constant by a controller based on measured deflections of the dancer roll by controlling the rotational speed of the unwinder and winder rolls.
HEAT-RESISTANT POLYMER FILM LAMINATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HEAT-RESISTANT POLYMER FILM LAMINATE
The present invention enables the achievement of a laminate of heat-resistant polymer films, which does not use a bonding material having inferior heat resistance. According to the present invention, a polyvalent amine compound serving as a reactive compound is applied to heat-resistant polymer films such as PET, PEN or PI films, and the resulting polymer films are superposed upon each other and subsequently subjected to a heat treatment under predetermined conditions, thereby obtaining a laminate of heat-resistant polymer films. Since the thus-obtained laminate does not use a bonding material, the heat resistance is not decreased and the film properties before lamination are not deteriorated. Since the process for obtaining this laminate has excellent productivity, this laminate is useful as a low-cost thick heat-resistant polymer film or sheet of high performance.

Device for Determining and Storing Eccentricity of Customer Roll Within a Slitter winder and Using for Unwinding Control
A measuring device is releasably received within a winding core of a customer roll wound on a slitter-winder (10). The measuring device (20) is releasably fastened within the winding core by fastening element(s) (21) securing the device to the winding core (10) for rotation during winding of the fiber web around the winding core to form the customer roll. Eccentricity of the customer roll as it is wound is determined from movement, speed and/or acceleration data received from at least two sensors of the measuring device and data is stored for use in unwinding the fiber web from the customer roll and serving as control information. Tension variations in unwinding can thus be anticipated and premeditative steps taken to ensure smooth running of the fiber web in unwinding in further processing.
ASSISTED PRINT MEDIUM RECEIPT
A method of operating a device to receive a print medium is disclosed. Rotation of a receiving device to receive a print medium is detected, whereby the rotation is caused by an external force. An assisting force is applied to further rotate the receiving device in response to the detected rotation.
