SHEET EJECTION DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE SHEET EJECTION DEVICE
A sheet ejection device includes a sheet stacker, a retainer, and a biasing member. The sheet stacker has a stacker face and a coupling portion. The sheet stacker is configured to stack a sheet on the stacker face. The retainer has a coupling portion and an adjuster configured to rotate the sheet stacker to adjust an angle of the stacker face. The retainer is configured to retain the sheet stacker to be movable in a vertical direction. The biasing member is coupled to the sheet stacker and the retainer to apply a biasing force to bias the sheet stacker in an upward direction to the retainer. The sheet stacker is configured to move in a downward direction against the biasing force, as a number of sheets stacked on the stacker face increases. The coupling portion of the retainer is configured to move when the adjuster rotates the sheet stacker.
VENEER MOVING APPARATUS
An apparatus for moving veneer includes a leaf spring having at lower tip end thereof sharpened edges and configured to move a veneer sheet toward its preceding stationary veneer sheet. Further lowering the leaf spring with the tip end already stuck in the veneer sheet causes the leaf spring to be resiliently deformed, which creates a force due to restoring force of the leaf spring that acts on the veneer sheet to move toward the preceding veneer sheet thereby to reduce or eliminate a gap between the two veneer sheets. Additional leaf spring movable with the above leaf spring and configured to hold the preceding veneer sheet during the movement may be provided.
VENEER MOVING APPARATUS

The sheet discharge tray stacks sheets. The drive motor raises and lowers the sheet discharge tray. The power transmission breaker can cut off power transmission from the drive motor to the sheet discharge tray when an upward external force is applied to the sheet discharge tray. The load reducer provides a reverse load to the sheet discharge tray in a reverse direction to the load generated on the sheet discharge tray due to stacking of the sheets. The load reducer is connected to the first power transmitter.
