A cable reel that has at least one support frame having an outwardly extending braking gear member and a first flange having a central opening with an internal braking gear member engaging the outwardly extending gear member of the frame, thereby rotatably coupling the at least one support frame and the first flange. A hub is provided between the first flange and a second flange that opposes the first flange. The hub is configured to support cable, wherein the engagement of the gear members provides friction for cable payoff from the hub.

A method of installing cable on a cable reel that has the steps of providing a cable reel that includes first and second opposing flanges where the first flange has a first hub portion and the second flange having a second hub portion and the first hub portion has one or more flexible segments; placing a cable coil over the first hub portion and on the first flange so that the first hub portion substantially extends through an inner diameter of the cable coil; and expanding the one or more flexible segments by inserting the second hub portion inside of the first hub portion so that the one or more flexible segments engage the cable coil.

A thread dispenser for use when installing hair extensions comprised of a base supporting a spool on a vertical spindle. The top of the base has a guide with a catch to hold and guide the thread towards a cutter on top of the base. The cutter includes a cartridge with a replaceable blade. The blade is recessed and exposed through a mouth for safety. The base includes a plurality of needle holding apertures. Optionally included is a drawer in the base and a tension nut holding the spool onto the spindle.

The application relates to a cable drum support for rotatably supporting a cable drum, including a cross beam, on which two holding arms are arranged, which are aligned parallel to one another, wherein each holding arm has a respective laterally protruding and rotatably supported bearing pin on a free end, wherein the bearing pins are arranged aligned with one another on the holding arms so as to face one another and aligned parallel to the cross beam, and wherein at least one of the holding arms is shiftably supported along the cross beam. A spool holder includes a cylinder defining a longitudinal axis and having an external surface on which a spool of wire may be supported. A first plate is positioned at a first end of the cylinder and a second plate is positioned at a second end of the cylinder. Both first and second plates have portions extending radially outward from the external surface of the cylinder. The first and second plates both have a perpendicular orientation relative to the longitudinal axis. The first and second plates restrict axial movement of the spool of wire therebetween. The first plate and cylinder are stationary relative to a mounting structure, while the second plate is configured to rotate with the spool of wire. A mechanism urges the second plate and, thus, the spool of wire toward the first plate, thereby regulating rotation of the spool of wire.

In this way, the improved yarn swift enables its user to quickly and easily wind a hank of yarn.
