Carousel-type trap for insects
11690366 · 2023-07-04 ·

The invention refers to a Carousel-Type Insect Trap, in order to control or monitor insects through different types of bait mounted on a carousel, thus facilitating the handling of baits used in traps for the monitoring of insects, which is of great economic importance, with uniformity and consistency, thus establishing a world-wide monitoring system for plague control, which will allow us to compare capture results with no variables in the handling and placement of baits and retention substrates inside the traps.

Arthropod detection

A method for detecting an arthropod, the method being performed using an apparatus including a detection surface, an electrode grid including electrodes arranged relative to the detection surface, and an electronic processing device, wherein the method includes, in the electronic processing device: measuring changes in electrical properties of the electrode grid in response to at least one of movement and positioning of one or more body parts of an arthropod in proximity to the detection surface; and, determining whether the arthropod is of a particular arthropod type by analysing the changes to determine whether the changes are indicative of a characteristic behaviour of the particular arthropod type.

CROP MONITORING AND PROTECTION

The present teachings relate to a computerimplemented method comprising: receiving, at a processing means, a crop data indicative of the type of a crop; receiving, at the processing means, a region data indicative of at least one harmful organism that may be present at or around the location of the crop; selecting from a database, using the processing means, a sensor arrangement suitable for selectively genotyping at least one relevant harmful organism; wherein the at least one relevant harmful organism is among the at least one harmful organism, and wherein the selection is performed in response to the crop data and the region data. The present teachings also relate to: an electronic device comprising a processing means configured to execute the method steps disclosed; and, a computer software product.

Apparatus and method of use for an automated mosquito salivary gland extraction device

Systems and methods for providing a combined mosquito staging and dissection system are disclosed. The system can include a mosquito staging subsystem; a robotic pick-and-place station; and a dissection, extrusion, collection, and disposal subsystem. The subsystems can include one or more stations to provide orientation, decapitation, extrusion of salivary glands, and disposal of carcasses of the mosquitoes. The resident live sporozoites from the salivary glands can be used to produce Plasmodium SPZ-based vaccines.

Flying insect light trap monitoring system

A flying insect light trap monitoring device and related methods and systems. The flying insect light trap monitoring device includes a housing, camera, controller, and communications module. The housing includes a mounting structure configured to couple with a flying insect light trap. The camera generally includes a wide angle lens. The camera and wide angle lens are secured to the housing and take a digital photograph image of a glue board in the flying insect light trap. The controller, including a processor and a memory, is secured within the housing and is communicatively coupled to the camera. The controller receives the digital photograph image. The communications module is operatively coupled with the controller and sends data packets, including the digital photograph image, to a remote server. Further, an image processing engine that processes the image and generates an insect count can be included.

INTELLIGENT INSECT TRAP AND MONITORING SYSTEM

An intelligent insect trap and identification system is disclosed. The intelligent insect trap and identification system can include an insect imaging chamber and identification system. The chamber can include a first cell for accepting insects, a second cell, a first reflector in the second cell, and a first imaging device in the second cell for recording one or more first visual images of the one or more insects in the first cell. Based on the image, the insect imaging chamber can detect and identify the insects. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

The present invention discloses an easy-to-clean visual grain monitoring device which includes a housing. A circuit board is provided within the housing and is connected with a monitoring unit; an insect collecting pipe, which is provided within the housing, includes multiple first entrances; the housing includes multiple second entrances which are corresponding to the first entrances respectively; an execution element, which is installed on a base, is connected with a lower end of the insect collecting pipe for driving the insect collecting pipe to move up and down; an insect leaking passage, which is provided at an upper end of the base, extends downwards along a side wall of the base; a tail end of the insect leaking passage has a first insect leaking hole for discharging pests, the housing has a second insect leaking hole in a position corresponding to the first insect leaking hole, and the lower end of the insect collecting pipe has a third insect leaking hole staggered with the insect leaking passage. The insect leaking passage is blocked and unblocked by moving the insect collecting pipe up and down, so as to achieve rapid cleaning. The present invention is simple in structure, convenient to operate, and rapid in cleaning.

Mosquito identification classification trap and method to use

It is important to trap and identify mosquitos to ensure the safety of the population where mosquitos gather. The classification of a type of mosquito is typically accomplished by a unique wingbeat signature that is characteristic of different types of mosquitos. One of the goals of the trap is to quickly identify the mosquito and then quickly release the mosquito. This application will allow the user to obtain an approximate population so that the appropriate type and amount of insecticide can be applied to control the population to insure the health of the human and animal population while at the same time minimizing danger to the environment or surrounding ecosystem.
