An insect barrier system configured for positioning about a tree trunk. The system includes a barrier member having an extending portion which includes an inner edge extending along a plane and an outer edge positioned a distance from the plane. The barrier member is configured to be positioned about the tree trunk such that the inner edge is in sealing engagement therewith and a containment area is defined between the extending portion and the tree trunk. A collection sack is configured to be positioned above the barrier member. A tunnel member having a passage therethrough is positioned such that an inlet opening thereof opens into the containment area and on outlet opening thereof opens into the collection sack.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INFESTATION DETECTION
20210212304 · 2021-07-15 ·

A pest detection system comprising at least one of a temperature component, an odor component, or a respiration imitation component. The temperature component can be configured to radiate heat such that a select temperature is reached. The odor component can be configured to emit a select odor. The respiration imitation component can be configured to imitate a portion of a human breathing pattern. The pest detection system further comprises housing that retains a portion of the at least one of the temperature component, the odor component, or the respiration imitation component. The pest detection system additionally comprises a control system for controlling the at least one of the temperature component, the odor component, or the respiration imitation component. The pest detection system yet further comprises a trapping component. The trapping component can be configured to capture a pest.

IMAGING WITH WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SIGNALS

Methods and systems for estimating a distance to an object are described. In an example, a device can receive a reflected signal of a modulated signal being used in a wireless transmission of data. The reflected signal can be a reflection of the modulated signal from at least one object. The device can estimate a distance to the at least one object based on the modulated signal and the reflected signal. Further, the device can use the estimated distance to image a scenery including the at least one object.

Insect Trap with Multi-textured Surface
20210212305 · 2021-07-15 ·

An insect trap includes an interior chamber portion, comprising side walls and a floor, each side wall having an interior bottom region adjacent to the floor and an interior top region adjacent to the interior bottom region and apart from the floor. The interior bottom region of each wall has a surface finish substantially smoother than a surface finish of the interior top region of the wall. Accordingly, while a target type of insect can traverse the interior top region of each wall when the wall is in a vertical orientation, due to the relatively rough surface finish of this interior top region, an insect attempting to traverse the interior bottom region of the wall will slip and fall onto the floor and be unable to climb back up the wall, due to the smoother surface finish.

Method And System For Controlling And Communicating The Statuses Of Insect Bait Stations
20210007340 · 2021-01-14 ·

A device for controlling at least one insect bait station, in particular for insects harmful to humans, animals and plants, in which the bait station is provided with: at least one container provided with an insect entrance opening, the container containing bait and being at least partially transparent or translucent, a lighting device lighting the inside of the container but located outside same, a telecommunication module and a printed circuit comprising, inter alia, a memory and a processor connected to said telecommunication means. The device comprises an optical sensor essentially opposite the lighting device, and connected to the printed circuit, which measures the general opacity caused by the insect(s) in the container, the corresponding value being transmitted for processing and analysis of the status of the bait station.

FURNITURE PROTECTOR AGAINST BED BUGS AND OTHER CRAWLING INSECTS
20210000098 · 2021-01-07 ·

Pitfall traps, coasters, devices, apparatus, systems and methods for capturing crawling insects, such as bed bugs, and/or for preventing the insects from climbing up furniture legs to furniture such as beds, cots, chairs and any type of furniture where a person would rest or sleep. Smooth slick surfaces and/or pesticide treated surfaces can be located on underside facing horizontal or angled surfaces used with or without sticky surfaces which all can be used to prevent insect and bed bug travel and assist in helping trap the insects and bed bugs.

Ferromagnetic pest trap

The invention relates to methods of trapping a pest, said method comprising providing ferromagnetic particles for ingestion by the pest, and trapping the pest using one or more magnets, wherein a trapped pest has ingested and internally accumulated an amount of the ferromagnetic particles sufficient to permit immobilization of the pest using said one or more magnets. Devices for use with the methods of the instant invention are also disclosed.

UNIVERSAL SMALL INSECT VECTOR TRAP
20200404896 · 2020-12-31 ·

A universal insect trap having multiple points of entry is described being capable of capturing various types and sizes of insects. The universal insect trap may be used to capture and preserve target species such that genomes can be analyzed for specimens, which is beneficial in determining infection rates, strains of a vector or a pathogen, identifying associated microorganisms, determining or monitoring natural enemies, etc. The universal insect trap can include a base having a cone-shaped body, where the base includes a sloped surface. Further, the universal insect trap can include a dome portion and a trap portion. The trap portion can include an annular ring, a mounting portion, a vial, and an aggregation pheromone positioned in the trap portion, where the aggregation pheromone is one that emits a predetermined amount of pheromones over time to attract at least one predetermined type of insect.

REUSABLE TRAY FOR A GLUE BOARD TRAP AND A TRAP HAVING SUCH A TRAY FITTED WITH A REPLACEABLE GLUE BOARD

A reuseable glue board tray to be fitted with a glue board to form a glue board trap for rodent and other pests, and a glue trap having a reusable glue board tray with refillable glue boards, are provided. The side walls of the tray have a slanted lip sloped at an angle of preferably about 45 to the horizontal with the low side of the slope being on the outside edge of the tray to encourage pest interaction with the glue board by eliminating barriers between the glue board and the surface on which the tray rests. In addition, at least one of the side walls does not have a lip to facilitate replacement of the glue board through the lipless side while further facilitating easy entry of pests. Finger access cutouts are provided in the side walls of the tray that allow the user to lift the tray without touching the glue board, and two opposing sides of the tray have inwardly extending tabs that lap over the adjacent outer edges of the glue board to prevent the board from falling out of the tray unintentionally. The configuration of the tabs and/or side walls enables a plurality of trays to be nested together to form a compact stack of trays.
