Flying insect light trap monitoring system

A flying insect light trap monitoring device and related methods and systems. The flying insect light trap monitoring device includes a housing, camera, controller, and communications module. The housing includes a mounting structure configured to couple with a flying insect light trap. The camera generally includes a wide angle lens. The camera and wide angle lens are secured to the housing and take a digital photograph image of a glue board in the flying insect light trap. The controller, including a processor and a memory, is secured within the housing and is communicatively coupled to the camera. The controller receives the digital photograph image. The communications module is operatively coupled with the controller and sends data packets, including the digital photograph image, to a remote server. Further, an image processing engine that processes the image and generates an insect count can be included.

Water movement system and method for controlling water breeding insect populations

A water movement system and method configured to eradicate and/or control mosquito or insect populations that lay eggs in treated, stagnant water environments. The system is comprised of a water pump configured to function in cooperation with an underwater insect attractant device. The insect attractant device is suitably constructed to generate carbon dioxide for attracting insects to a water extermination zone or trap. In one embodiment, the underwater insect attractant device contains organisms such as mycelia for generating the carbon dioxide. Insects are attracted by the carbon dioxide generation device to reproduce in the water extermination zone, using the treated water to lay eggs, and grow larvae and pupae for the subject insects. A solar-powered water pump device is configured to direct the flow of water from the water extermination zone toward filters of the water pump device to trap and kill insect progeny including eggs, larvae, and pupae.

Mosquito identification classification trap and method to use

It is important to trap and identify mosquitos to ensure the safety of the population where mosquitos gather. The classification of a type of mosquito is typically accomplished by a unique wingbeat signature that is characteristic of different types of mosquitos. One of the goals of the trap is to quickly identify the mosquito and then quickly release the mosquito. This application will allow the user to obtain an approximate population so that the appropriate type and amount of insecticide can be applied to control the population to insure the health of the human and animal population while at the same time minimizing danger to the environment or surrounding ecosystem.

LED tube apparatus

A light tube apparatus includes a tubular housing, a first light source, a second light source, a driver and a controller. The tubular housing having a first light passing window and a second light passing window. The first light source is for emitting a white light from the first light passing window in an illuminating mode. The second light source is for emitting an ultraviolet light from the second light passing window in a sanitizing mode. The driver is for converting an external power source to a first driving current to the first light source and a second driving current to the second light source. The controller is for determining when to enter the sanitizing mode or the illuminating mode based on a stored criterion.

A bug trap apparatus suited for trapping and killing lanternflies is presented. More specifically, the present invention traps and kills lanternflies, specifically emplacing the present invention in nesting areas, feeding areas, or any other areas where lanternflies congregate. The bug trap apparatus comprises an enclosure, a mounting frame, and at least one capturing element. The at least one capturing element each comprises a trap body, a trap entrance, and a trap reservoir. The at least one capturing element is distributed about the mounting frame. The mounting frame is positioned within the enclosure. The trap entrance and the trap base are positioned terminally opposite to each other along the trap body. The trap reservoir is positioned within the trap body. The trap entrance traverses within the trap reservoir.

Insect Trap Receptacle

A receptacle for use with an insect trap comprises a hollow body defining an open upper end for attaching to the insect trap and for receiving insects from the trap, and an open lower end. A floor of the receptacle is mounted to the lower end of the body and is movable between a closed position wherein the floor covers the open lower end, and an open position wherein the lower end is open and exposed to a surrounding environment.
