CONTROLLING MOVEMENT OF AN ELEVATOR CAR
Elevator system includes a hoistway extending between a plurality of landings; an elevator car configured for moving along the hoistway between the plurality of landings; an elevator drive configured for driving the elevator car; a position determining system configured for determining the position of the elevator car within the hoistway; at least one switch; and an elevator controller. The elevator controller is configured for detecting an activation of the at least one switch; controlling the elevator drive to move the elevator car in a predetermined direction after the switch has been activated; determining the current position of the elevator car within the hoistway and comparing the determined position of the elevator car with at least one predefined positional limit (L.sub.UP, L.sub.LOW), while the elevator car is moving.
FAIL SAFE BAR FOR CLUTCH TYPE BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Disclosed is an elevator machine including: a plurality of stationary structures, including a proximate stationary structure and a distal stationary structure, a brake support that comprises the proximate stationary structure, a brake disc rotably supported in the brake support intermediate the plurality of stationary structures, the plurality of stationary structures and the brake disc each including a respective one of a plurality of orifices, and the plurality of orifices being mutually aligned and offset from a rotational axis of the brake disc to removably receive an elongated bar, wherein when the bar is positioned in the plurality of orifices, the brake disc is prevented from rotating, thereby preventing vertical movement of an elevator car in an elevator hoistway.
DETECTING ELEVATOR MECHANICS IN ELEVATOR SYSTEMS
Embodiments include a method and system for detecting mechanics in an elevator system. The system includes a controller configured to communicate with one or more anchors, and a tag configured to transmit a signal, wherein the signal includes an identifier and location information. The system also includes one or more anchors, wherein the one or more anchors are configured to detect the signal from the tag, wherein the controller is configured to execute a safety action response to detecting the signal from the tag.
Method and an arrangement for enabling movement of the elevator while a maintanence technician is in the pit
The method of performing maintenance of an elevator is performed by unlocking and opening a landing door at a lowermost landing manually, activating a first stop button in the shaft, whereby a safety circuit of the elevator is opened so that operation of the car is completely prevented, entering into the shaft, closing the landing door, climbing down from the lowermost landing to the pit, turning a drive switch in a maintenance control unit positioned in the pit into a maintenance drive mode, whereby the first stop button is by-passed so that the car can be driven from the maintenance control unit upwards and downwards in the shaft.
Elevator pit safety net system
A safety net system is provided for an elevator system that includes an elevator pit. The safety net system includes a sensor and a processor. The sensor is arranged in a plane along a bottom of the elevator pit and is configured to perform sensing to sense an object disposed along the plane and to generate data corresponding to results of the sensing. The processor is operably coupled to the sensor and is configured to analyze the data and to determine whether the data is indicative of a person in the elevator pit based on analysis results.
ELEVATOR SAFETY SYSTEM
According to an aspect, a technique for operating an elevator safety system using pressure-sensitive detection includes detecting a presence in a safety zone of a first elevator of the elevator system, and activating a safety mode of the first elevator based at least in part on the determination. The technique also includes operating the first elevator in the safety mode, and transmitting data of the first elevator to a server.
Limit switch system including first limit device and second limit device
A limit switch system for an elevator. The limit switch system includes a limit device configured to determine a position of the elevator car at a location of the hoistway upon selection of an inspection state.
MECHANISM FOR IMPROVING SAFETY FOR AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM
A safety control device applicable to an elevator system including an elevator car driven in an elevator shaft by means of a drive device, said safety control device comprising at least one sensor configured to detect, in the elevator shaft, a presence of an object in at least one specified area of the elevator shaft, and a controller configured to receive and process a signal of the at least one sensor indicating a detection result, and to conduct, when the detection result indicates the presence of an object in the at least one specified area of the elevator shaft, a safety procedure in which a switch from a normal drive control of the drive unit to a safety drive control is executed in which a target value set for the speed of the elevator car is decreased.
SCISSOR LIFT ELEVATOR PLATFORM
An elevator car includes a car body having a car floor, one or more car sidewalls, and a car ceiling. A movable floor panel is located at the car floor. The movable floor panel is configured to be moved between a stowed position and a raised position, such that access to an elevator system hoistway is gained via the movable floor panel in the raised positon. A method of performing maintenance on an elevator system component includes moving an elevator car along a hoistway to a maintenance position, raising a movable floor panel of the elevator car from a stowed position to a raised position, accessing an elevator system component located in the hoistway outside of the elevator car through an opening in the elevator car via the movable floor panel located in the raised position, and performing maintenance on the component from inside of the elevator car.
Elevator shaft element, elevator arrangement and method
An elevator shaft element, an elevator arrangement and a method. The elevator shaft element comprises a frame module arranged for receiving an elevator car therein. The frame module is constructed from a transport and/or storage unit, comprising side walls, a bottom wall and a roof wall. The unit is arranged to be positioned vertically such that said side walls, bottom wall and upper wall of the unit define an inner space of the elevator shaft. Elevator car guides for guiding movement of the elevator car in the elevator shaft element are attached to said bottom wall and/or roof wall.
