20180098533 · 2018-04-12 ·

A bird deterrent has a base and at least one branched spike extending from the base. The branching can occur anywhere along the spike, and a single branch point can give rise to multiple branches. Spikes can have multiple branches. The various branches can be of any suitable length(s), and can be oriented in any suitable direction(s).

The bird deterrent comprises a substantially flat tilting surface, having a substantially elongated shape and a substantially curvilinear profile, which can be positioned in a balancing position and oscillating, as a consequence of a bird or the like perching on it, around at least an axis of rotation substantially horizontal and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tilting surface, and support means associable with a perching surface and supporting the tilting surface.

Raptor Nest Deterrent

A nesting deterrence device for elevated infrastructure is designed to be mounted within a deterrence area on elevated infrastructure, such as cell and data towers, utility poles, sports lighting, and the like, in order to deter raptors (i.e., Osprey) and other birds with relatively long wingspans, greater than 33 inches (84 centimeters), from entering into a deterrence volume immediately above the deterrence area. Birds are deterred from flying through the deterrence volume by a plurality of deterrence rods, spaced and oriented within the deterrence volume, which would interfere with bird flight. Because birds would be prevented from freely flying through the volume, they would be unable to alight and nest in the deterrence area below.

ANTI-BIRD COVER FOR A WATERCRAFT
20180049427 · 2018-02-22 ·

An anti-bird cover for a watercraft uses planar sheet of plastic netting with a small, but not micro, aperture to deter birds from perching. The aperture is formed by a plurality of filaments and knots. The filaments are between 0.25 and 2.00 in length, with the illustrated embodiment having filaments of 0.75. The plastic netting is formed from nylon, polypropylene (PP), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). The perimeter of the netting is encircled by an elastic gather with two free ends. The two free ends of the elastic gather are captured by a bungee cord stop. The surface area of the planar sheet of plastic netting is 1.5 time the surface area of the watercraft to be covered, in order to make the present invention billow in the wind, thus deterring birds from perching.
