ATTRACTANTS FOR RATS
Rat attractant compositions attractive to the rat species Rattus norvegicus are disclosed, which compositions are constituted of compounds found in the headspace volatiles of male urine odor or female urine odor. Said compositions are respectively termed male pheromone blend (MPB) and comprises 2-heptanone, 4-heptanone, 3-ethyl-2-heptanone, 2-octanone, 2-nonanone, and 4-nonanone in a ratio of 10:100:10:1:1:10 respectively, or female pheromone blend (FPB) and comprises 2-methyl-butyric acid, 3-methyl-butyric acid, heptanal, hexanoic acid, 2-phenylacetaldehyde, nonanal, and decanal in a ratio of 20:20:10:30:5:20:10. Devices including the rat attractant compositions, and methods of using said rat attractant compositions, are also disclosed.

Rodenticide
A rodenticide composition is described along with a method for using the same to exterminate rodents. The composition features a mixture of a dehydrant, a composition for producing endogenous gas, a dietary emulsifier, a hypercalcemia promoter, and a source of cellulose. After consumption of the composition by a rodent, the dehydrant and source of cellulose cause the rodent to experience dehydration, while the endogenous gas produced by the composition causes bloating and increased digestive stress. The dietary emulsifier and hypercalcemia promoter cause digestive stress, which reduces the rodent's desire to feed and quickens dehydration and death. Once the rodenticide composition is prepared, it may be placed in areas frequented by or infested with rodents so as to kill the rodents once they consume the composition. One or more flavorings, coloring agents, and weather resistant materials may also be added to the composition.

Synthetic lures
The present application relates to semiochemical-based lures for mammals, particularly mammalian pest species that are useful for monitoring, capturing and/or controlling mammals and to methods of using semiochemical-based lures for monitoring, capturing and/or controlling mammals, particularly mammalian pest species. The present application also relates to the use of semiochemical-based lures for monitoring, capturing and/or controlling mammals, particularly mammalian pest species. In some embodiments, semiochemical-based lures are useful for reducing the number of mammalian pest species in one or more designated target environments.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ATTRACTING RATS
An acoustic signal for attracting rats comprising a playback recording or synthetic generation of vocalizations of rats or mice is provided. The vocalizations may be of rat pups, and may be characterized by sonic frequency components in the range of 1.8-7.5 kHz and/or ultrasonic frequency components in the ranges of 21-24 kHz, 40-50 kHz and/or 60-96 kHz. The vocalizations may be of adult male rats, including courting adult male rats, characterized by sonic frequency components in the range of 15-20 kHz and/or ultrasonic frequency components in the range of 20-100 kHz. The vocalizations may be of adult female mice, including nursing adult female mice, characterized by sonic frequency components in the range of 8-12 kHz and/or ultrasonic frequency components in the range of 25-100 kHz.
