Method and apparatus for automating power take-offs for vehicles and equipment
A system and method of this disclosure control an on/off state of a power take-off by monitoring the power demand of a fluid power circuit that includes the power take-off and a piece of equipment connected to the power take-off. The power demand may be indicated by a pressure or temperature of a fluid power circuit, by a motion of the equipment or its hand-held controller, or by an engine torque of an engine driving the power take-off. When the equipment transitions between an off state and an on state, the controller automatically engages the power take-off. When the equipment is in the on-state for a predetermined amount of time and the power demand is at or below a predetermined threshold during the predetermined amount of timethereby indicating idle time or an inactive state of the equipmentthe controller automatically disengages the power take-off.
Mobile crane having a guyed telescopic boom
The invention relates to a mobile crane having a telescopic boom that is luffably coupled to a superstructure and that comprises a coupling section and at least one telescopic section supported therein in a retractable and extendable manner. At least one guying support is fastened to the coupling section and is connected to the coupling section or to the superstructure via a first guying and to a connection piece at a telescopic section via a second guying. In accordance with the invention, the second guying comprises at least two guying elements coupled with one another. The second guying is thereby adjustable in length and is thus adaptable to the extension length of the telescopic boom such that at least one of the mutually coupled guying elements is directly releasably connectable to the guying support. The invention further relates to a guying system for a mobile crane in accordance with the invention, to a method of moving a mobile crane in accordance with the invention into a guyed work position, and to a method of varying the extension length of the guyed telescopic boom of a mobile crane in accordance with the invention.
LIFT DEVICE WITH IMPLEMENT STABILIZATION
A lift device includes a chassis, an implement assembly including an implement actuator, and a lift assembly coupling the implement assembly to the chassis and configured to raise the implement assembly relative to the chassis. The lift device further includes at least one of a gyroscope assembly, a hydraulic stabilization system, or a first boom portion and a second boom portion. Rotation of a flywheel causes the gyroscope assembly to apply a force to the implement assembly to oppose movement of the implement assembly. Responsive to movement of the implement assembly when a valve is in a closed position, fluid flowing between the implement actuator and a fluid source is directed through an orifice via a second supply line, thereby restricting the flow of fluid and dampening the movement of the implement assembly.
