Method for imparting to an article or product antimicrobial activity and the article or product having the antimicrobial activity
A method for imparting to an article or product antimicrobial activity includes a step of applying an antimicrobial agent containing an antimicrobial polyaminosilane to the article or product. The antimicrobial polyaminosilane is prepared by subjecting an aminosilane monomer to a hydrolysis and condensation reaction. The antimicrobial polyaminosilane thus prepared is free of halide ions.
Preservative for technical products
The invention relates to a preparation comprising a) 10 to 80% by weight of ,,-trimethyl-1,3,5-triazine-1,3,5-(2H,4H,6H) triethanol (TTT) and b) one or more additives selected from i) ammonia, ii) alkanolamines with primary amino group and alkyl group having at most eight carbon atoms and iii) alkylamines with primary amino group and alkyl group having at most eight carbon atoms, where the weight ratio a):b) is in the range from 100:30 to 100:1. The preparation is present as semi-concentrate and has an advantageously lower viscosity, is moreover storage-stable, in particular storage-stable over a long period.

Cyclohexylamine-based compounds and uses thereof
Compositions are described comprising an amount of a toxicant comprising a compound of the formula HNR.sup.1R.sup.2, or a salt thereof, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.4-C.sub.6-cycloalkyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.6-C.sub.12-aryl group; wherein the amount of the toxicant is sufficient to control termites. Methods for controlling termites using such compositions are also described.

Agents and methods of treatment
Agents and formulations and cells including plant extracts are useful in a method for controlling pathogen infestation in human and animal subjects. A method for inhibiting growth or infestation of a pathogen in or on a human or animal subject, includes contacting the pathogen with an effective amount of a combination of a plant defensin or a functional natural or synthetic derivative or variant thereof and either: (i) a proteinase inhibitor; or (ii) a chemical pathogenicidic or pathogenostatic agent; in a combined amount effective to inhibit growth or infestation of the pathogen.
