A system and method prevent product-type contamination in a bulk liquid storage tank. A control unit receives an indication of a storage product type in the bulk storage and a delivery product type in the tanker truck. The control unit compares the delivery product type with the storage product type and controls delivery based on a result of the comparison.

System and method for managing fuel dispensing account

Described herein are systems and methods for managing a fuel dispensing account associated with fuel dispensing transactions. A fuel dispensing apparatus includes a receiver configured for wireless communication with a user device. The fuel dispensing apparatus receives a request to dispense fuel from the user device via the receiver and associates the fuel request with a primary user account stored in a user database. A notification is sent to one or more users of the primary account requesting instructions regarding the fuel request. Fuel is dispensed from the fuel dispensing apparatus if instructions are received from a user of the primary account authorizing the request.

Fluid dispensing or recovery system

A fluid dispensing system generally comprising a dispensing nozzle coupled to a supply conduit; the dispensing nozzle detachably connected to a receiver; a receiver identification device associated with the receiver; an electrical identification circuit being contact-based and including the receiver identification device; an electronics module connected to the supply conduit and arranged to communicate with the electrical identification circuit whereby connection of the dispensing nozzle to the receiver completes the electrical identification circuit and permits communication of at least a unique receiver identifier associated with the receiver identification device to the electronics module.

CONNECTION APPARATUS FOR ESTABLISHING A FLUIDIC CONNECTION BETWEEN A STORAGE CONTAINER AND ANOTHER FLUIDIC DEVICE AND A CORRESPONDING RING ELEMENT FOR CODING THE STORAGE CONTAINER
20220162055 · 2022-05-26 ·

A connection apparatus is used to fluidly connect a storage container and another fluidic device. The connection apparatus utilizes a probe that is inserted into the container to extract fluid from inside the container. A connection piece can be used to connect to the other fluidic device. A support is mounted on the container, and includes a spatial coding that is interlocked with a counter-coding structure. The spatial coding is used to ensure that the correct support is used with the container containing a fluid. A ring element codes the system to indicate the fluid or fluid type.

FUEL DISPENSER WITH FRAUD RESISTANT FLOW CONTROL VALVE
20220153569 · 2022-05-19 ·

A flow control valve is provided including a valve aperture in a valve body configured to convey fuel from an inlet to an outlet, a valve element configured to close the valve aperture to block flow of the fuel, a valve actuator configured to shift the position of the valve element between a closed position and an open position, and an antifraud circuit. The antifraud circuit is configured to receive a signal to open the flow control valve, determine if the signal is legitimate based on a signal characteristic, cause the flow control valve to shift to the open position in response to determining that the signal is legitimate.

Anti-theft fuel dispenser pulsar lock and methods of making and using the same

The invention is a pulsar lock device that can be installed on a variety of different gas dispensing pumps to prevent theft of gasoline. The pulsar lock device includes first and second covers that enable the device to be attached to a fuel dispenser frame. The covers also properly position the device adjacent to the pulsar. The pulsar lock further includes a cross bar that spans the distance between the first and second covers and provides support for a block. Advantageously, the block is positioned adjacent to the pulsar, thereby preventing access to the pulsar control board. As a result, the pulsar cannot be accessed and/or manipulated, thereby effectively preventing theft of gasoline by thieves.

Systems for Deterring Improper Fueling and Charging of Vehicles at Fueling and Charging Stations, Respectively
20230264941 · 2023-08-24 · ·

Systems for deterring improper fueling and charging of vehicles at vehicle fueling and electrical charging stations, respectively, are provided. Each system includes a stationary communication device configured to receive wireless signals transmitted by a mobile communication device located proximate its station. Each signal contains identification data. A plurality of pushbutton switch assemblies are included at each station. Each of the assemblies is manually operable to allow a customer to initiate a fuel dispensing or charging transaction. One or more sensory indicators are located at each station and are configured to provide an alert to assist the customer to make a proper selection of either fuel or charging connector. A controller or processor is configured to determine the proper grade or type of fuel by processing the identification data and to activate or alter the one or more sensory indicators thereby assisting the customer in his or her selection process.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A FUEL PUMP
20220122598 · 2022-04-21 ·

A method of controlling a fuel pump includes receiving a first set of data characterizing an audible activation word including a first voice pattern. Control of the fuel pump is authorized in response to the first voice pattern matching a stored voice pattern within a database. A second set of data characterizing an audible command word is received, where the audible command word includes a second voice pattern. The fuel pump is controlled based on the audible command word in response to the second voice pattern matching the stored voice pattern within the database.
