AUTOMATED TWO-COLUMN RECYCLING CHROMATOGRAPHY METHOD FOR UNLOCKING CHALLENGING SEPARATION PROBLEMS

The technology relates to a recycling chromatography method. A sampled is injected into a mobile phase flow stream of a liquid chromatography system creating a combined flow stream. The liquid chromatography system includes at least two columns positioned in series, a valve in fluid communication with the at least two columns, and a detection cell positioned between the at least two columns. The combined flow stream is flowed through the at least two columns and chromatographic peaks of the sample are monitored by the detection cell. The detection cell is configured to measure resolution and width of the chromatographic peaks and automatically switch the valve from a first position to a second position when the measured resolution is less than a desired resolution, the measured width is less than a maximum combined peak width, and a switch count is less than a predetermined maximum number of switches.

METHOD FOR PURIFYING PROTEIN USING ACTIVATED CARBON

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for purifying a protein capable of significantly reducing amount of impurities and achieving a high recovery rate, compared to a method for purifying a protein using an activated carbon of the related art. The present invention relates to a method for purifying a protein using an activated carbon, including: bringing an activated carbon pretreatment solution obtained by adjusting conductivity of a protein-containing aqueous solution into contact with an activated carbon; separating the protein and impurities in a non-adsorption mode to obtain the protein of interest with a low content of impurities.

Two-bed paraffin to olefin enhancement process

A process is presented for the purification of an olefins feed stream to a benzene alkylation unit. The process removes heavy aromatics in an adsorbent system comprising at least two adsorbent units. The unit passes the olefins feed stream to a first adsorbent unit, while the second adsorbent unit is either in regeneration mode, or standby mode. The process switches the feed stream to the second adsorbent unit and displaces the fluid in the second adsorbent unit, while maintaining the flow of the purified feed stream to the benzene alkylation unit.

Monolithic column chromatography

Provided herein are methods of liquid column chromatography in which preparative chromatography is performed in-line with analytical chromatography. In particular aspects a monolithic preparative column is used to purify an analyte of interest from a mixture of other substances by applying the mixture to the column, reversing the flow through the column to elute the analyte, which is applied to an analytical column provided in-line with the preparative column. In other aspects, a single monolithic column is used to perform both the preparative chromatography and analytical chromatography steps in succession. In another aspect, a chromatography system is provided to perform preparative and analytical chromatography using a single monolithic column.
