PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR THE REVERSIBLE ADSORBTION OF CARBON DIOXIDE
An apparatus (10, 110, 210, 310) for the separation and recovery of CO.sub.2, from air, by a cyclic adsorption/desorption process using a loose particulate sorbent for gas adsorption. The apparatus has a plurality of adjacent, parallel, spaced-apart layers (24, 124, 224, 324), each having a stiff frame supporting a flexible, gas-permeable fabric enclosure for the sorbent. The gas inlet (14, 114, 214, 314) and outlet (18, 118, 216, 316) of the apparatus are on its axially opposite sides, and each layer (24, 124, 224, 324) extending axially within the apparatus. The recovered CO.sub.2 can be either supplied to an enclosed space, recycled to an enclosed space, from which the CO.sub.2 had been separated, or vented to the exterior of the latter enclosed space.
PRE-PURIFICATION ARRANGEMENT FOR AIR SEPARATION AND METHOD OF HYBRID AIR PURIFICATION
A method and apparatus for purifying air via a pre-purification unit (PPU) of an air separation unit (ASU) system can include passing air through a first adsorber of the PPU to purify the air for operation of the ASU system while it is at or below a first pre-selected operational capacity. In response to the operational capacity of the ASU system needing to be increased to a level above the first pre-selected operational capacity threshold, a second adsorber can be brought on-line in parallel with the first adsorber or in series with the first adsorber to provide improved purification capacity to account for the increased demand for purification capacity resulting from the increased operational capacity of the ASU system. This second adsorber can be different from the first adsorber (e.g. different in size, adsorption capacity for impurities within air, and/or configuration, etc.).
Atmospheric Water Harvester With Climate-Adjustable Adsorbant Properties
Provided herein are atmospheric water harvesting systems that are tailored with an optimal adsorption threshold, based on energy cost and water availability considerations. The systems include a plurality of adsorbent modules, each containing metal organic frameworks of various adsorption thresholds. Such a design enables real time adjustment to achieve optimal harvesting conditions in changing atmospheric conditions, whether for daily or seasonal humidity variations.
Side storage pods, equipment front end modules, and methods for operating the same
Electronic device processing assemblies including an equipment front end module (EFEM) with at least one side storage pod attached thereto are described. The side storage pod has a side storage container. In some embodiments, an exhaust conduit extends between the chamber and a pod plenum that can contain a chemical filter proximate thereto. A supplemental fan may draw purge gas from the pod plenum through the chemical filter and route the gas through a return duct to an upper plenum of the EFEM. Methods and side storage pods in accordance with these and other embodiments are also disclosed.
Method for solvent recovery and activated carbon regeneration
An activated carbon device for adsorbing solvent from a flow of air is regenerated by feeding heated inert gas to the activated carbon and by applying a reduced pressure to the heated activated carbon.
PORTABLE PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FUEL GAS CONDITIONING
A portable pressure swing adsorption method and system for fuel gas conditioning. A fuel gas conditioning system includes a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system fluidly coupled to a rich gas stream, the PSA system including a plurality of adsorbent beds and configured to condition the rich natural gas stream and produce therefrom a high-quality fuel gas and gaseous separated heavier hydrocarbons, a product end of the adsorbent beds fluidly coupled to a fuel gas line, wherein the high-quality fuel gas is discharged from the product end and supplied to the fuel gas line, and a feed end of the adsorbent beds configured to be fluidly coupled to the rich natural gas stream or a raw natural gas stream, wherein the produced gaseous separated heavier hydrocarbons are recirculated into the rich natural gas stream or the raw natural gas stream.
APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING ORGANIC MATTER HAVING LID AND AIR TREATMENT SYSTEM PROMOTING PLEASANT USER EXPERIENCE
Embodiments disclosed herein provide an organic matter processing apparatus and method for the use thereof to convert organic matter into a ground and desiccated product. The organic matter processing apparatus includes a lid assembly that is positioned at the top or head of the processing apparatus and an air treatment system. The lid assembly is operative to open to allow a user to deposit organic matter into the processing apparatus or to remove a removable bucket contained therein. The lid assembly is operative to close and provide an odor containing seal that prevents or substantially mitigates escape of odor. The air treatment system uniformly distributes untreated air through an air treatment chamber to convert the untreated air to treated air, which is exhausted out of the processing apparatus.
Helical flow filter
A filter includes a filter outer wall, and a filter inner wall spaced apart from the filter outer wall. The filter inner wall and the filter outer wall define a filter void therebetween, and the filter inner wall and the filter outer wall extend along a filter axis. A volume of filtration material is positioned in the filter void, and a plurality of baffles extend between the filter inner wall and the filter outer wall. The plurality of baffles are configured to induce a helical component to an airflow entering the filter void at a first void end relative to the filter axis and exiting the filter void at a second void end opposite the first void end.
COMPOSITE ADSORBENT-CONTAINING BODIES AND RELATED METHODS
Described are composite adsorption media that contain two or more different types of adsorbent material in binder, that may preferably be prepared by additive manufacturing techniques, as well as methods of preparing the structures by additive manufacturing methods.
CANISTER
A canister, mounted in a vehicle with an engine and including one or more chambers, includes adsorbents, an inflow port, an atmosphere port, an outflow port, two or more adjusting portions, and one or more coupling portions. The two or more adjusting portions are elongated members placed in at least one target chamber of one or more chamber togethers, together with corresponding one adsorbent among the adsorbents to the target chamber. The one or more coupling portions couple the two or more adjusting portions to one another. Furthermore, the one or more coupling portions are provided to the two or more adjusting portions at a position distanced from end surfaces of the two or more adjusting portions.
