Acid gas treatment
Apparatus and methods for treating acid gas, which utilizes multi-stage absorption cycle of ammonia desulfurization to treat acid tail gas after pre-treatment of the acid gas, thereby achieving the purpose of efficient and low-cost treatment of acid tail gas. The parameters of the acid tail gas may be adjusted by a regulatory system such that the enthalpy value of the acid tail gas is in the range of 60-850 kJ/kg dry gas, for example, 80-680 kJ/kg dry gas or 100-450 kJ/kg dry gas, to meet the requirements of ammonia desulfurization, and achieve the synergy between the acid gas pre-treatment and ammonia desulfurization. Furthermore, hydrogen sulfide may be converted into sulfur/sulfuric acid plus ammonium sulfate at an adjustable ratio.

MASS TRANSFER COLUMNS AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION
A mass transfer column is provided in which a shell is formed of one or more side walls having an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton includes a plurality of vertical trusses joined together by crossing rails. An inner skin is supported by the vertical trusses and rails and, together with a top and bottom of the shell, defines an open internal region that may be pressurized and in which mass transfer process may occur. Horizontally extending beams that may be in the form of trusses span the open internal reaion and are supported by the exoskeleton. Internals such as structured packing may be supported on the horizontally extending beams.

GAS PROCESSING APPARATUS AND SUBSTRATE PROCESSING APPARATUS
A gas processing apparatus includes a duct, a partition plate and a liquid supply. The duct has therein a flow path through which a gas passes. The partition plate is configured to divide the flow path into multiple spaces, and is formed of a porous material, through which the gas passes, configured to retain a liquid. The liquid supply is configured to supply a dissolving liquid configured to dissolve a target component contained in the gas to the partition plate. The gas passing through the flow path is brought into contact with the dissolving liquid retained in the partition plate.

SUBSTRATE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD OF SUBSTRATE PROCESSING APPARATUS
A substrate processing apparatus includes processing units, an exhaust path, a gas processing apparatus and a controller. Each processing unit is configured to process a substrate by using a chemical. A gas exhausted from the processing units flows through the exhaust path. The gas processing apparatus is provided in the exhaust path to remove a target component contained in the gas. The gas processing apparatus includes a duct, a partition plate and a liquid supply. The duct has therein a flow path. The partition plate divides the flow path into spaces, and is formed of a porous material, through which the gas passes, configured to retain a liquid. The liquid supply is configured to supply a dissolving liquid configured to dissolve the target component to the partition plate. The controller adjusts a flow rate of the dissolving liquid according to operation information indicating an operational status of the processing units.
METHOD FOR SEQUESTRATION OF CARBON DIOXIDE USING A BODY OF WATER AND A SUSPENDED PLATFORM THEREFOR
A platform for sequestering carbon dioxide using a body of water is described. The platform has a vessel for holding solid metal hydroxide and for exposing the solid metal hydroxide to a flow of water to create a solution of a metal hydroxide having a pH level. The solution containing metal hydroxide is released into the body of water, causing a reaction with the carbon dioxide present in the body of water, thereby producing metal carbonate/bicarbonate, thus sequestering the carbon dioxide. A choice of the metal in the metal hydroxide, a rate of the releasing the solution containing the metal hydroxide into the body of water, and a flow rate of the flow of water so that to substantially maintain the solution containing the metal hydroxide at the pH level that is defined as environmentally safe and not changing chemistry of seawater. A corresponding method is also provided.

Atmospheric greenhouse gas removal
A material (such as potassium hydroxide or ammonia) capable of reacting with ambient carbon dioxide to produce fertilizer is placed in the path of ambient air movement. Desirably the material is associated with a fabric which in turn is associated with a vane of a vertical axis wind turbine, the turbine performing useful work as well as supporting the material which produces a fertilizer. A misting system controlled by a controller may automatically apply a water mist to the material if the humidity is below a predetermined level. The fabric with produced nitrogen and/or potassium fertilizer may be placed directly into contact with soil, or shredded first, or burned to produce energy and an ash (and the ash applied to the soil). The wind turbine may have a convenient, versatile mounting system with three adjustable legs supporting a central component, and the spokes of the wind turbine may be slotted for easy assembly with vanes.
