The invention relates to a method for separating mercury (Hg) from furnace gases of combustion plants, wherein a catalytically active material having a mean grain diameter <35 ?m is metered into the furnace gas, the elemental mercury in the furnace gases is oxidized, and resulting oxidized mercury is separated in the process using adsorption and absorption techniques in preexisting plant technology. The intensified formation of oxidized mercury is performed within a temperature range <500? C.

COAL-FIRED BOILER EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT APPARATUS AND COAL-FIRED BOILER EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT METHOD

An exhaust gas treatment apparatus which includes a denitration device, a dust collector, and a desulfurization device in order, respectively, in a flow path of exhaust gas discharged from a boiler, wherein a heavy-metal component removal device is provided in the exhaust gas flow path between the dust collector and the desulfurization device. This device is provided with: an absorption tower including a nozzle which sprays acidic absorption liquid on the exhaust gas, a tank which stores liquid which has absorbed a heavy metal, and a pump which supplies the nozzle with the liquid in the tank; a neutralizing tank which neutralizes the liquid drawn from the absorption tower; and a separator which separates the neutralized liquid into a solid and a liquid component. Since a small amount of heavy metal can be removed in the absorption tower, re-emission of the heavy metal by the desulfurization device is prevented.

The present invention relates generally to the field of emission control equipment for boilers, heaters, kilns, or other flue gas-, or combustion gas-, generating devices (e.g., those located at power plants, processing plants, etc.) and, in particular to a new and useful method and apparatus for: (a) achieving a reduction in the level of one or more halogens, or halogen-containing compounds, necessary to affect gas-phase mercury control; (b) permitting the oxidation of at least a portion of any elemental mercury (Hg.sup.0) contained in a flue gas and/or combustion gas stream; and/or (c) permitting the oxidation of at least a portion of any elemental mercury (Hg.sup.0) contained in a flue gas and/or combustion gas stream so that the use of at least one post-oxidation mercury capture method and/or process results in the capture of at least a portion of oxidized mercury contained in the flue gas and/or combustion gas stream.

Clean coal stack

A method and apparatus for cleaning and recycling stack gas from coal-fired power plants, from natural or propane burning heating plants, or from cement kilns by using renewable catalysts of zeolite to separate pollutants into recyclable and reusable materials. The method reduces from the stack gas carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2), nitrogen oxide (NOx), sulfur oxide (SOx) as well as halogens such as chloride and fluorides and trace metals particularly, mercury, lead, and zinc.

Control of wet scrubber oxidation inhibitor and byproduct recovery

The present disclose is directed to a method for controlling iodine levels in wet scrubbers, and, in particular, recirculating wet scrubbers by removing the iodine from the scrubbing solution, such as by using ion exchange, absorption, adsorption, precipitation, filtration, solvent extraction, ion pair extraction, and an aqueous two-phase extraction.

A flue-gas purification system includes a flue-gas cycling system, a reactor, and an absorbent adding system having at least a catalytic absorbent, wherein the catalytic absorbent is being gasified for reacting with the flue-gas in the reactor in a homogenous gas-gas phase reacting manner. Therefore, the purification system has fast reaction rate between the pollutants of the flue-gas and the catalytic absorbent, which is preferably ammonia, to efficiently remove pollutants, so as to effectively purify the flue-gas.

METHOD FOR PROCESSING WASTE USING LOW-TEMPERATURE PLASMA AND DEVICE THEREFOR
20250032982 · 2025-01-30 ·

A device for processing waste is described herein that comprises an ion generator, a furnace chamber, a heat exchanger, a pollution control system, and a chimney. The ion generator converts atmospheric air into an ionized gas and the furnace chamber thermally decays the waste by combining the waste with a product of an interaction of the ionized gas and heat generated by the furnace chamber. The heat exchanger cools the excess gas. A wet scrubber system removes heavy metals and/or acid gases from the cooled excess gas to generate scrubbed excess gas, and a fixed bed coke system detoxifies the scrubbed excess gas by converting carbon monoxide, water, and steam in the scrubbed excess gas to carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and removing remaining acid gas, a remaining heavy metal, and/or a remaining dioxin from the scrubbed excess gas. The chimney transfers remaining scrubbed excess gas out of the device.
